What is the most GSW can take back via sign and trade?

3/75M from Brooklyn. Last year a team option. Maybe they can showcase him and then trade him for assets if they want to and he plays well.

In taking back a player contract by sign and trading Kuminga away, GS would enact a hard cap at the second apron, which they're a little more than $36m under right now. He'd be BYC at anything starting over $9.164m, so he'd count as the greater of his salary last year $7.636m or 50% of his new salary. If they want to hardcap themselves at the 1st apron, they could match for +$7.5m of whatever his outgoing number is, but again, would hardcap themselves at the 1st apron. Would need to salary match at 100% or less of his outgoing number to keep the hardcap at the 2nd apron.

So, all kind of depends on what he signs for, what other moves they make, and where they wat to hardcap themselves.

So they could send him out with a starting salary of $20 Million then take back $17.5 Million and be capped at the first apron or take back $10 Million or less and be capped at the second apron?

Also the receiving team would be capped at the first apron either way due to sign and trade?

Just a hunch (if they move DDR, which I think they will, I'd bet on the CLIPPERS) he'll be a Sacramento Kings player... Valanciunas and several SRPs? Maybe to the WIZARDS? For Smart? Or will Smart go to Dallas and Gafford to the Warriors?
I think he'll earn a little less than 20 million.

DeMar DeRozan to the Hornets
Jonas Valanciunas to the Warriors
Jonathan Kuminga ($20.8 Million Year 1) and Jusuf Nurkic to the Kings

What picks goes where?

I also thought WAS could work. Richaun Holmes has a 13 million non guaranteed team option for next season. Add one more player on each side and the Warriors can still get something out of it. They can waive Holmes and cut 13M in salary, or resign him to another deal for less, and still cut salary.

Warriors would be better off with trade exceptions than Holmes or Jonas V. for Kuminga.

If Dunleavy and company are going to convince Joe Lacob to give up his favorite player, the return will need to be better than that

BK could just try and sign him outright. Though they'd have to make a decision - is it better to get Kuminga at $18M/yr and give up a secondary asset to GSW in a S&T deal or is it better to get Kuminga at $24M/yr and figure GS won't match that much of a contract? I think they'll go for the smaller contract as I don't think GS will be asking for that much of an asset (very late 1st or good 2nds).

This might happen.
