Keep Giannis Home v3 (OKC - Milwaukee - Chicago)

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Mon May 19, 2025 12:56 am

OKC trade: Joe, Dieng, 15
OKC receive: Connaughton, POR 2026 LP 1st, 2026 swap rights w/ worse of NOP/MIL 1st

Chicago trade: Smith, Ayo, POR 2026 LP 1st
Chicago receive: Kuzma, Dieng, 15

Milwaukee trade: Kuzma, Connaughton, 2026 swap rights w/ worst of OKC/HOU/LAC/POR 1st
Milwaukee receive: Smith, Ayo, Joe

Why for OKC: Joe doesn't look like he is part of their playoff rotation (12MPG). Free up future money and roll forward their assets. Gamble on Milwaukee not doing well next year
Why for Chicago: Consolidate some lesser assets into a solid mid 1st by taking on kuzma's deal
Why for Milwaukee: add 3 rotation players around Giannis to try and stay competitive

That's not keeping Giannis in Milwaukee. If I'm Chicago I also stand pat and assume the Portland pick next summer will be worth more than the 15th pick this year.

MIL is in a really bad position, and lost their control on future #1 from 2026 to 2030. This trade cant help that much to MIL at all.

I can't tell if people here are joking or put in negative effort when posting.

You should check the protections on that Portland Pick.

OKC motivation should be to improve our rotation.

Value wise I kinda feel we are paying a bit of a premium in the trade but direction wise , don’t like it at all.

Add some 2nds and make it portis instead of Connaughton?

I think it’s actually pretty interesting. I’d assume OKC has a trade lined up for Connaughton (using 24th even) to improve the team and it should probably be built into this, even if it’s really a separate trade.

The Portland first might actually convey in 2027 or 2028 if either guard can develop or they trade for talent.. and I imagine both Milwaukee/NOP would be projected to be play-in teams, so a nice jump next season.

i'd be in for an idea like this, specially if it avoids giannis to the west, but i think we would need better value in return.

iirc the trade for 10th pick in 2022 (ousmane dieng) commanded 3 2023 frps, that's the kind of value i'd be looking for the #15 pick alone (specially since both picks are low floor/low ceiling). thunder should let go isaiah joe, but the dude has some value.

i think make it with 2028 bucks/por lower pick and bucks 2031 srp.

Have no clue yet who I want to target . It might not be portis though I do want someone who would clearly make my top 7-8 players .

The No for the Bulls is Kuzma might have been a good add a year or 2 ago but now they've got Buzelis who came on strong the last 1/3 of the season. They don't want Kuzma with two years left taking any play/shots from Buzelis who is their future. It' not like Kuzma is going to catapult the Bulls deep into the playoffs any more than he did the Bucks. Dieng is no better and he's honestly never put p numbers better than Patrick Williams who is signed. The Bulls end up with #12 and #15 and both are 3rd string at their position no matter what so how do they develop on the bench?

and true the PORT pick is #15 at best when it shows so #15 this year is no great prize
