Can you find me a third team (plus filler)?

Post#1 » by louc1970 » Mon May 19, 2025 7:12 pm

Looking for a third team to send the Celtics value for Porzingis.

Boston sends Porzingis (and filler if necessary)
Boston receives ???
Boston moves off Porzingis and receives a more robust center/PF.

Denver sends Porter Jr (filler if necesssry)
Denver receives Porzingis
Porzingis with Jokic would be a brutal combination of size.

Third team receives MPJ
Third team sends ??? to Boston.
Team has to find value in MPJ. Not sure who that would be.

Pistons send Fontecchio and Sassar. They also want some incentive to take on MPJ’s contract.

Don't see how Porzingis helps Denver at all. He's never healthy in the playoffs and he's really a Center only at this point - he's too slow to play much with Jokic - and they don't need a backup center at that salary.

Do we have any idea what Porzingis’s health issues were late in the year? I feel like that would define whether Porzingis requires value to move, or if he gets value in a move.

Described as lingering effects from a virus. Not sure if it’s long covid or what. He plans to play in euro basket so will see how he looks there. I’d expect he would be good to go for next year but who knows.

Thanks! Yeah, his body’s response to that play will tell a lot.

I would bet that no one will complete a trade for him without an extensive physical, and which would require him being in the states when a trade occurs. Could limit timing to closer to camp, too.

Porzingis paired very well with Kornet (+24.7 net rating) and Queta (+19 net rating in limited minutes). He'd be able to play with Jokic.

As far as staying healthy, yeah, no warranty on that.
