The Pels actually own swap rights with that pick

They need to hold onto that. If GA demands out later this week that might be a hot asset.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

And that would require assets like picks in this trade to be redirected to Brooklyn that already aren't enough to make this type of deal make sense for Milwaukee, Boston, etc.
My big suggestion? Start much smaller. Figure out core needs from different teams. I'm definitely not seeing why Toronto would be involved here.

Ok i appreciate it, how about this smaller scale trade, and you tell me if you think Brooklyn would even consider it. Could serve as a preliminary trade for a bigger Boston or Milwaukee trade down the line too. Here it goes

Bucks: Nic Claxton

Nets: Kuzma, Porzingis, #28ovr, 27 MIL 1st, 27 BOS1st

Mavs: Jrue Holiday, Jordan Walsh

Celtics: Gafford, PJ, Hardy, 30 PHI 2nd rounder (does this need a 1st instead?)

4 team trade isn’t any smaller!

But my quick thoughts? Others have pointed out that Milwaukee doesn’t have that pick, and if we ignore that, I don’t think Milwaukee should be paying any pick compensation to acquire Claxton. If Giannis leaves, why would they pay picks? If Giannis stays, Claxton isn’t a great fit to play with Giannis offensively.

Brooklyn getting 3 1sts to turn Claxton into Porzingis/Kizma is insane value, though they may not want to give up their cap space cheaply.

Mavs and Celtics I’ll yield to others, as I could see one of any number of routes for them that could make some sense.

Mavs are eating too much future money here, it has to be Klay instead of PJ.

My thinking here was that 1st as the cost of doing business to dump Kuzma's contract and get under the 2nd apron, so that if Giannis did need to be traded they could recieve an aggregated return. Well, that + Clax, which took it up from multipIe 2nds to a 1st in my book, but tough to personally evaluate. But was just assuming his wanting out here.

Oh, I agree that in a vacuum, Kuzma should require extra value to get back Claxton. Im saying that Milwaukee shouldn’t be paying firsts for Claxton. Or really have interest in Claxton at all, unless they get back a win now return for Giannis that perfectly fits Claxton.

Also, this deal has Milwaukee just sending Kuzma salary for Claxton salary, which would hard cap them at the 1st apron. They’re solidly under it right now, so it shouldn’t matter too much, but it would limit their options the rest of the year.
