Detroit sends Simone Fontecchio and next year's second round pick to Boston for Same Hauser. Boston sheds some salary immediately since Fontecchio is making less money, and in the long term since he's a free agent after next season. Detroit gets an actual backup PF for Harris and improve their spacing.
Bill Simmons suggested a trade where Detroit just absorbs Hauser's contract, but I think Detroit would want to keep some money around to pay Beasley/THJ/Shroeder/some prospective FA, and I think Boston's repeater tax problem is bad enough that they'd do almost anything to spend less.
He also suggested a trade where Detroit takes Jrue, but I would not want to have anything to do with that contract based on how little he gave Boston in the playoffs. He looks like he's declined heavily, especially on offense, and is being paid like a star player.

Re: BOS/DET
WE've done this a bunch. It's much better if Detroit pays to dump Fontecchio on a 3rd team saving Boston meaningful money instead of taking a player they don't want. If that costs Detroit 2 2nds, its still worth it to lock up this level of shooter this cheaply.

Re: BOS/DET
Celtics don't move Hauser to Detroit unless a.) part of a bigger deal with Holiday or Porzingis or b.) the Pistons absorb his contract and give some sort of draft capital. Nothing else makes sense, especially Fontecchio. Hauser is a 40% three point shooter. Shooting Detroit needs. Celtics won't move Hauser for $2.5 million salary cap savings.
There will be much better deals for Hauser than this one.
