Weighing in late here, but...

Detroit gets a borderline all-star center in Porzingis who has a one year deal. Potential low risk/high reward.

Come on, dude. This is classic player value exaggeration. Porzingis hasn't been of all-star caliber in a long time now, and there is no "low risk" where he's involved. He's virtually guaranteed to miss a large percentage of any given season due to injury, and that's not going to change.

Hauser who is a strong three point shooter and Tillman as a backup big. More shooting for Detroit offense centered around Cunningham.

Again, come on. Tillman is not a backup-caliber big. He's a depth player who averaged 1 PPG this season. That pretty much just leave Hauser, who's a good shooter but is worth a great deal less overall value than Stewart.

Porzingis has averaged 20+ points the last three years on 38.5% three point shooting. That’s a borderline all-star center

…when he plays…

Porzingis is still a very good player. He’s also prone to missing games for all kinds of reasons. He’s got a year and 30 million on his deal.

I’d argue he’s likely worth his contract, even if he plays the expected 55 games or so. But trade value? For an expiring, about to be 30, injury prone guy coming off a mystery ailment in the playoffs?

I think Boston will easily find a market if they want to unload him. But they aren’t getting any kind of first out of KP unless they take bad salary back, which would defeat the purpose of dealing him. No one except the Nets has that kind of space. It’s problematic.

20 PPG is no longer special in today's league. There were 70 players who averaged at least 18 PPG this season. Injuries have substantially reduced his defensive acumen; he's still solid, but a good deal worse than he used to be.

Besides, guys who chronically miss substantial stretches of any given season aren't all-stars and don't provide all-star value, and Porzingis is all but certain to miss at least 25 games in any given season -- and that's a lot likelier to get worse than better. When a player can't reliably stay on the floor, he's providing negative value: not only the value he can't provide given his absence, but also the opportunity cost of not instead having a player who will reliably be able to play.
