LAL/SAC/BOS/DAL 4 team trade

Post#1 » by Michaellam1987 » Mon May 26, 2025 9:38 am

BOS in Hachimura, Vincent, Kleber, Valanciunas, Hardy and Powell
BOS out Holiday and Porzingis

BOS offloads Holiday’s remaining 3 years contract, and KP’s contract, into multiple veterans under expiring contracts, that may be resold again later. Hardy gives some depth on the guard position, after Holiday’s departure.

LAL in Porzingis and Klay
LAL out Hachimura, Vincent, Kleber and Knecht,

LAL had interest on Klay before and get their C here, without giving up too much.

SAC in Holiday, Washington and Knecht
SAC out Derozan, Monk and Valanciunas

SAC rumored to have interest in Holiday, together with Washington can significantly improve the overall defense. Losing Monk hurt, but getting back Knecht as a young talented shooter. Derozan does not fit SAC and is the main piece out.

DAL in Derozan and Monk,
DAL out Klay, Washington, Hardy and Powell

DAL give up frontcourt depth and defense, for more scoring and ball handling in the guard position.

DDR is not the answer and really isn't even a guard anymore. I'd much rather have PJ

Wouldn’t look at DDR as the return for PJ. The Dallas side of this seems like PJ for Monk, which gives you your scoring guard and then DDR seems like the return for Klay/Hardy/Powell which, while DDR isn’t ideal or “the answer” I think does give more of what you need than those guys in terms of shot creation.

Lakers are way overpaying for Porzingis here with Rui and Knect. I think the rest of this has legs though.

Holiday, PJ to SAC, DDR and Monk to DAL, Klay/Hardy/Powell to BOS.

The cap involved in OP needs some work I think. LAL can’t do that trade, Boston can’t do that trade without dumping 2 of those contacts as part of the deal..

Don’t know if KP/Luka want a reunion. They should? But if Luka doesn’t want it, it obviously doesn’t happen.

For Dallas, I think adding Monk and Demar would make the offense work during Kyrie’s injury.. but the second apron concerns make me think Dallas should just do the PJ/Martin/? for Monk, instead of adding another large contract that isn’t a great fit once Kyrie is healthy..

Agree. Both Monk and DDR can create shot, and their deficiencies on defense, can be covered by the other above average defender in DAL's starting lineup. PJ is a good player, but he is not the one that can really create offense consistently in big game or in playoff.

Tried to re-route Rui to another team with a less useful expiring contract(s) coming in together with some minor incentives. But dont want to make the trade too complicated.
