Heat/Celtics/Kings

Post#1 » by sackings916 » Sun May 25, 2025 11:36 pm

Heat trade:
Jaime Jaquez
Duncan Robinson
Haywood Highsmith

Heat get:
DeMar DeRozan

Celtics trade:
Jrue Holiday

Celtics get:
Jaime Jaquez
Duncan Robinson
Haywood Highsmith

Kings trade:
DeMar DeRozan

Kings get:
Jrue Holiday

Why for MIA- they get a scorer to take pressure off Herro and Bam

Why for BOS- they get flexibility financially, a prospect in Jaquez, and 2 rotation wings in Duncan and Highsmith

Why got SAC- they get their starting PG in Holiday

Miami is going to pass. We need Duncan so we can cut him and gain that cap flexibility, and I've never liked the fit of DeRozan in Miami.

If Boston would accept that, Jrue would be in Miami

That’s a good point. But even though he’s unproven they have a similar and much cheaper version in Davion Mitchell coming off a solid playoff series. And DeRozan gives them a go to guy in the halfcourt which Holiday is not.

DeRozan can potentially fill a need as a go to guy to alleviate some of the pressure off Herro IMO. And they have a defensive anchor in Bam and a POA defender in Mitchell to cover his defensive deficiencies. And not sure if this makes a difference but DeRozan is only a partial guarantee next season at $10M.

Duncan's only a partial guarantee this year and we need to release him to re-sign Mitchell without going over the tax. Resetting that clock is important.

Thanks for that insight. Any word on what kind of offer Mitchell will get? Always liked him in Sac.
