76ers & Cavs big change w/ MIL BKN NOP

Post#1 » by nolaPELSfan » Mon May 26, 2025 10:32 pm

Cavs: #3, Tyrese Maxey, Paul George

76ers: Mobley, Garland, Connaughton

Bucks: Olynyk, Strus, Okoro

Nets: Kuzma, #47 & a '26 2nd(MIL)

Pels: Portis

Donovan/Tyrese/Hunter/PG/Allen + #3

Garland/McCain/Oubre/Mobley/Embiid & #35

Cavs try a new core around Mitchell they hope might take them further and gain a premium #3 pick that offsets them aging their timeline some.

6ers think Mobley complements Embiid well and look to put insane shooting to capitalize around an Embiid-centric offense. They like that they get younger incase Embiid's career downturns.

Bucks get a new batch of role players and get off Kuz

Nets get a tank commander

Pels use Portis as a backup to Zion

That looks terrible for Cleveland and way too good for Philly.

I also don't think BK takes Kuzma for 2nds but that's minor in comparison.

If the Nets take on salary dumps, it's going to be to extort the single best asset they can get. They're not going to settle for 2nds.

The question will be, who is most desperate to duck an apron/tax threshold or needs a facilitator in a 3 team deal. My gut says Boston with the price being their '26 FRP, but if Giannis gets dealt Milwaukee won't want to return comparable salary. Indiana trying to retain Turner and duck the tax is another possibility.

Not a fan for CLE

Instead of Mitchell playing with Garland, you have him playing with another Mitchell, lol. I don't see Mitchell/Maxey as the answer either. If that was straight up I might talk myself into change for changes sake, but then CLE is also giving up Mobley for ancient (and won't want to be there) PG13 and a coinflip between Ace and Edge? Seems a little light for Mobley.

Yeah yall are right, CLE needs more draft comp here (probs BKN 2). If there were more there for Mobley, is it considered? Give em 35 and a future 1st too?

Can't see Cleveland being willing to trade Mobley, outside of maybe something like a Giannis deal.

I mean, yes for Philly... but is Cleveland really doing that? Don't see it. And Kuz is too much money for only two 2nds IMO.

This is simply too good for the 76ers. The Cavaliers would be taking a major step back just to hope that Ace Bailey or whoever they draft with the 3rd pick pans out. They also wouldn't have the assets to move Paul George contract while trying to continue to build around Donovan Mitchell and their salary cap situation would never be good enough where they be able to depend in Free Agency ether. Also, replacing Garland with Maxey as the backcourt partner for Mitchell is going to make the Cavaliers backcourt issues even worse. Unless the player the Cavaliers select with the 3rd makes a major impact right away, this trade will likely result in Mitchell requesting a trade within a year or 2. Just a major step backwards for the Cavaliers with no meaningful long term benefit.

Still not close. Maxey/Garland is kind of a wash. It would have taken Flagg for Cleveland to listen to a PG/Mobley swap (at that point maybe Philly doesn't offer but anything less isn't going to turn a 3 year terrible contract into a young All-NBA player.

This is GROSS for Cavs, if it was Flagg and McCain instead of 3 & Maxey, it might be a conversation. PG contract SUCKS!!!
