Indy management has been clear that if Turner didn’t extend, they were going to trade him.

Reporters wrote the team couldn't risk losing him for nothing, but I never saw it credited to a team source even an "unnamed source."

If Toronto's trading Siakam I can guarantee that it's going to include one high upside intriguing young piece.

In general from everything is coming out of Toronto, they would prefer young upside players over draft picks, they aren't going to trade a borderline top 15 player for a purely draft pick based return, let alone add FVV to it.

I didn't read that as explicitly as you do at the time, but it's certainly true that the extension took a lot of urgency out of deals at the deadline.

I stumbled across this trade looking for a past post of mine.

It's not a gotcha thread, just an interesting proposal that could have been and made more sense for the Lakers and Raptors in hindsight. Man do I wish Lakers got FVV.
