BULLS
In: Gafford/O-Max
Out:J.Smith/Lonzo
The Bulls get a different center archetype than what they have, he would immediately be their best rim protector and an excellent PnR partner for Giddey.
MAVS
In: Smith/Lonzo
Out: Gafford/OMP
Mavs also get a different 4/5 archetype, who can space the floor and should be a good fit alongside AD/DL, healthy Lonzo would be the ideal PG for the Mavs needs (the problem is that healthy Lonzo doesn't exist) anyway and along with the probable signing of another guard in FA (CP3) it gives them depth and saves the position until KI returns

Re: Bulls/Mavs
I dont think a Gaff-Chicago reunion is something either side would want. From what I recall, it ended badly

Re: Bulls/Mavs
Not sure sending Gafford to Chicago is the best use of his value. I think this needs a 3rd team to send an expiring and some 2nds to Chicago.
But I also don't want to give up Gafford for Ball. He's Dante Exum 2.0. Nice big PG who is a nice rotation player when healthy, but just never healthy. Would just try to bring back Exum if this was the cost for a guy who plays this little. My Ball offer would be much less. And while Smith has value he doesn't change this for me because PG is the priority.

Re: Bulls/Mavs
I know so many here think defense is the beat all end all but Smith hustles and shoots the three quite nicely, once they move on from 40%+ Vucevic they really can't afford a center who can't really shoot from 6 feet and out. The Bulls have no reason to trade Lonzo Ball, low contract, came back from his major injury, is a leader, well liked. Carter, Terry should go before him, they could even trade White. You want the Bulls to get Gafford for defense and then you want them to trade their best defensive guard. Try to make a trade that makes sense. Lonzo is a better defender than Giddey, White, Carter, Huerter and I'd say Dosunmu

Re: Bulls/Mavs
Need to balance the value for the Bulls, but this is one option:
Bulls In - Knecht, OMax, Hardy, Vincent or Maxi +
Bulls Out - White, Carter or Smith
- White is expiring and doesn't seem the Bulls are sold on him as part of the future, so they swap him out for a handful of young talent on team friendly deals that is still developing and need time to play. If one of them hits, could eventually be part of the core or a future trade asset. (24/22/22 in age respectively). This would allow them to organically tank for 2026 and get younger
Lakers In - Gafford
Lakers Out - Knecht, Vincent or Maxi
- Get the rim rolling center who anchors the defense to pair with Luka.
Mavs In - White, Carter or Smith
Mavs Out - Gafford, OMax, Hardy
- Get a PG to step in for Kyrie while he is out, can potentially play with him as well when he comes back given his size

1) Way too much going on here
2) White is worth more than Knecht/Hardy
