Minnesota trade: Gobert, Randle, Dillingham, 31
Minnesota receive: KD, Okongwu

Atlanta trade: Okongwu, Mann, 22
Atlanta receive: Gobert

Phoenix trade: KD
Phoenix receive: Randle, Mann, Dillingham, 22, 31

Why for Minnesota: upgrade 2nd option and get a younger/cheaper fit at C
Why for Phoenix: get a starting PF, recent lotto pick and a 1st for Durant
Why for Atlanta: upgrade starting C

I like this as a trade for Minnesota but I think they can keep #31, though I wouldn't quibble over it.

Randle is a good fit for Phoenix but Mann is quite redundant with Allen/Booker/Beal.

I like this as a trade for Minnesota but I think they can keep #31, though I wouldn't quibble over it.

Atlanta also has a 26 Million TPE and are well below the Tax.

Call me crazy but I rather have OO than Gobert straight up given their contracts. But take that from a long time OO fan that has wanted to trade for him for years. Flashed a 3pt shoot the last two months at .39%, and was 5-9 in the two play in games. I think Gobert is a safe bet to be better, but I think OO gives them a higher upside in part since they can use their cap space and draft pick to improve their team and play a different style of basketball.

As a MN fan, I’d lean into the Ant timeline and thus not go after KD and keeps the assets. However, I don’t hate the trade. Maybe keep 22 or 31 to draft a true center (Sorber, Beringer, Yang or, Kalkbrenner). Quinn did coach Rudy in Utah, and they need to bring up their floor, which Rudy will do. With Rudy, I think they win 50 next year. Rudy is a very impactful regular season player.

Yup, still have #17. Still have the 2026 1st which has some variability but likely in the 20s. Still have Dillingham/Shannon/Clark/Miller to develop.

Gobert is a better basketball and better fit with Young since you can't run a switching scheme with Young.

As a fan that follows the team, this is correct. Injuries were the only thing holding him back. He made huge strides being relatively healthy an entire season. His contract is top tier, top 3 bargain.

Gobert is a better basketball and better fit with Young since you can't run a switching scheme with Young.

And in return you cannot play a five out offense either. Look there is little the Hawks can do in reality to push them into a contender status, but at least they can throw out a exciting offense for a few years and maybe make a little noise in the playoffs. Watching Gobert call for the ball and fumble it away as he is declining into his mid 30s just doesn't do much for me even as he is covering up for Trae.
