Would be a mistake for POR to make a play for GA. Too far from contention, even if MIL would accept the deal (which they would not and should not).

Simons/Deni/Grant/Clingan/Giannis/Coumari is a clear title contender

No it really is not. If GA wants out he needs to go to a team that is already close with great trade assets OKC, HOU, some place like that.

Yes it is a good team and clear title contender.

That team is leaps and bounds better than the Current (last year with healthy Dame) Milwaukee team.

That says more about MIL than it does about POR.

And no, that team is not a contender and things get dicey once POR needs to pay Camara, Clingan etc.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

I think this team is clearly in the Denver/Minnesota/Healthy GSW tier, which I consider contenders in the West.

It seems like the Durant package is closest but still a bit light. Giannis is younger and better.
I’d say a star level player, a young player with star potential and a few pick with at least one being a potential lotto ticket.
I don’t really see that around the league so Milwaukee would probably need to decide on a direction…stay competitive with some good players or a package focused on young guys and picks and go full rebuild

Plus a perimeter scorer whose life is so much easier now playing off Giannis. Plus a young quality center. Probably would like to turn Grant into an overpaid guard if possible, but I mean if I have Giannis/Deni/Camara/Simons I feel like I can figure some other things out.

Portland was competitive with no offensive engine. Keep the most important players and add an MVP?

But if adding Giannis isn't enough, nobody should be turning down every Deni/Camara trade. Because they are going to be way less valuable when they combine to make $70M and it appears there is no path to Portland being good enough before that if adding Giannis doesn't get you there. Because Jokic or SGA ain't coming....

Deni and Camara are really good, and Portland should consider moving them to take big swings in this or future drafts.

I don't think landing Giannis gets Portland the Larry O'Brien, but the trade idea here does make the Blazers a very good team. The problem is that Scoot, Sharpe, and two picks will not land Giannis.

I think that might be the best comp, who has that to offer?

Sengun, Jabari, Sheppard, 10 and 2-3 1sts?

As a reference, this was the AD to Lakers trade reaction

If this offer includes all the Suns picks then I think this would be hard to beat and should get it done. I suppose it’s moot if he wants to stay East.

Best Toronto could realistically offer is:

Barnes, Dick, Agbaji, 9 and 2 picks + 1 swap.

Your Houston’s offer is better though I’m higher on Sheppard than most and Jabari might be underrated at this point in my opinion. The X factor are the picks. If they’re Houston’s then it’s not as appealing.

the only teams that could make realistic offers and remain competitive are the spurs and rockets, that's been the case ever since lotto day

but they're in the west

if giannis wants to leave because he wants to win, he's not going to request a trade to the tougher conference when he still has two full years on his contract and will gut his new team of assets

maybe before the deadline if the bucks are a trainwreck, but the chances of it happening this offseason are very very closely approaching 0.0%
