76ers/Wiz/Pels

Post#1 » by PhillyFan11 » Sun Jun 1, 2025 2:35 am

Sixers out: #3, McCain, Oubre, Drummond, Gordon
Sixers in: #18, #40, Tre Murphy
Why: #3 and McCain for Murphy and 18 makes sense for the Sixers roster wise as a fit with Maxey long term.

Wizards out: #6, #18, #40, KyShawn George
Wizards in: #3, Drummond, Gordon
Why: Wiz move up to get a franchise type player they missed out on because of the lottery without sacrificing long term assets

Pelicans out: Tre Murphy
Pelicans in: #6, McCain, KyShawn George, Oubre
Why: Pels are said to be shopping everyone on their roster and this gives them a chance to add 3 young players for 1 and sets themselves up salary cap wise to add more after the season.

The 3rd pick and Jared McCain for Trey Murphy quite a steep price to pay, even with the 18th and 40th picks involved. Maybe another team is willing to pay that price ,but the 76ers should stay away if that's the asking price. Maybe replace Jared McCain with Kelly Oubre and this becomes much more interesting and even then I would want a additional asset.

6, 18, and Kyshawn is too expensive for 3. I think WAS passes. Wouldn’t mind a smaller trade for Drummond though.

NOP is taking a ton of value here.

What would this deal look like with Drummond, any ideas?

Maybe some seconds and a prospect like Colby Jones?

Wash could definitely use him as a vet big next to Sarr, but can he be traded with his player option?

The Wizards absolutely would not give up any value whatsoever to add an aging vet like Drummond. The Wizards are building for the future, not for next year. Indeed, they actively want to lose next year to avoid giving away their top 8 protected 2026 pick.

I think he can be traded as soon as he officially picks up his option (which we seem sure he will).

I think our FO's should be able to find a something that works, i think your right he would be good for Sarr, i also think Philly would prefer to use his money to resign Yabuselle if possible. So some combination of what you are offering should work for both sides IMO.

I agree, that’s kind of what I was leaning towards without giving an insulting offer. A late future 2nd and an end of bench prospect. I’m just thinking a defensive minded veteran 5 to let Sarr play more at the 4 next year and see what he looks like. I think WAS needs a big, but I’m honestly not too high on any of the better ones in this draft being a fit next to Sarr. People keep saying Queen, but I don’t think the fit is there. I watched a lot of Maryland basketball and Queen got torched regularly because of his defensive foot speed. I’d prefer to see a more athletic, albeit offensively limited big next to Sarr, which was my idea of Drummond being a cheap but playable option.

In the Dirk Nowitzki trade, the Mavs traded #6 for #9 and #19 so I think #3 for #6 and #18 is not that unfair. Of course that trade in the 1998 was totally lopsided but still the values of the picks was fair

The Sixers would be fine with salary dumping Drummond to WSH for a late 2nd IMO.

They'll find a guy in free agency before trading any value for Drummond. If nothing else, there's probably a handful of overpaid guys on existing rosters whom the Wizards could take on just to save them money.
