(Predict contract in FA) Kuminga
Less than 2 weeks until free agency, thought it might be fun to predict some of these player contracts.
What contract do you think he gets?

100/4. I don’t think he’s worth that but I think it’s likely he gets around that

I think something like $60m/3 but yeah, you might be right. He isn't worth it though.
Who is giving this deal? Nets?

I said room exception b/c that is closest to his QO. I don't think he has a huge market this year and the Warriors won't offer him an amount that makes it worth not taking the QO and trying again in 2026 as a UFA.

Yeah - I think the Nets give him an offer that is $60/3.
That 3rd year might be a player option that is only $2M guaranteed (giving both sides an opportunity to cut the deal shorter).

4/100 really isn’t that much any more. I wouldn’t be surprised if his number is in that neighborhood. More seems too much, but I usually guess low.

Nets might do it: CamJ, Naz, Claxton fit is decent.
Or they go for Kuminga.

Have a feeling someone will pay 90 million dollars/4 years with play option towards the end. I think giving him this contract could be a mistake, but someone will still buy the upside of Jonthan Kuminga.

Yeah if I’m the nets I’m throwing that offer at him. Their cap is pretty clean, it’s not that much money these days and if the warriors match who cares he’s probably not worth it anyway. The nets just need to take swings like this and hope Kuminga blooms in a different situation

Re: (Predict contract in FA) Kuminga
I'd' be shocked if it isn't a 3 year contract. Shorter and his new team wouldn't have full Bird rights (or if he resigns with GS he wouldn't come with Bird rights if traded). Longer is also unlikely as he'll expect to be getting a much larger 3rd contract but no one's going to line up for that at this time.
I'd guess around $18M/yr. More than MLE money (where I think he'd get several offers) but not so much it's a big problem if he doesn't really hit. Could be staying in GS (with likely midseason deal), could be BK, could be Chicago into TPE (my Jalen Smith idea).

Re: (Predict contract in FA) Kuminga
4 year 100 million sounds about like what he will get. I personally wouldn’t come close to that offer. But there is always guys getting overpayed on the what if scenario they develop.

I think there will be a team, like Hornets, that see a use for his athleticism and want to play with pace. After what Indy is doing this year, I can see people seeing a lot of Obi Toppin and Benedict Mathurin in him. Sign and trade would be the method.
Can they take Josh Green and Grant Williams? I think those would be some interesting fits for the Warriors.
