Do the Lakers have a warchest of first round picks to offer? Because I would say the difference between Reeves and JJJ is about 3 unprotected picks.

This isn’t enough for JJJ. If they move him they’re looking for a package similar to the Bane trade and this doesn’t come close.

Add a third team and keep Reeves.

Memphis trades: JJJ
Memphis receives: Hachimura, 2025 9th pick, 2027 TOR, 2029 TOR, 2031 TOR (top 4), 2031 LAL.

Los Angeles trades: Hachimura, 2031 LAL
Los Angeles receives: Pöltl

Toronto trades: Pöltl, 2025 9th pick, 2027 TOR, 2029 TOR, 2031 TOR (top 4).
Toronto receives: JJJ

Maybe I’m off but that feels closer to his value. Toronto would have to lock him up to give up so many picks though.

Jaylen Brown for JJJ. Take it or leave it, Memphis.

I doubt Poetl is worth Rui and a first.

If memphis is tearing it down then Rui can be swapped for other unwanted salary.

Recent reports suggest The Grizz have no interest in trading JJJ or JA and by trading Bane, they have more money to offer JJJ an extension over summer.

Always thought the Memphis Front Office rates JJJ very highly, reckon it's Morant who is more likely to moved on down the track if things don't get better at the Grizz.

Anyhow it doesn't seem likely that the Grizz are going to blow it up

He's not. They made the Bane trade so they could afford to keep him, not because they're tearing everything down.

If he is, the Lakers should be going all in for him and moving Reaves, the issue is Reaves wouldn't help a rebuilding Memphis

Reaves + all of LAL's other assets outside of Luka still isn't enough for JJJ.

Not sure Lakers could get JJJ

Reaves could help the mavs and mavs have bigs to spare
It would be funny to have a Mavs / lakers trade part 2

They didn't have the assets to acquire Luka but yet, here we are.

Reaves+Knecht+2031 1st+expiring isn't bad imo, but need to find an AR buyer

AR and Bane are similar impact guys, but AR still has 1 more year of a cheap contract. So I would view his trade value as similar

Hard disagree on both paragraphs.

IMO pretty easy to disagree on both...

I don't see anyone lining up to trade for a limited AR. Like you can count this years picks as unprotected, but you are not getting an unprotected pick in a following year (26, 27) for him.

The better he is next year, the more he demands on his next contract, the worse he is, then the harder you have missed.

If the LAkers could have gotten the Bane package for him, they would have. AR is a poor defender, good scorer, not terribly selfish, but does disappear.

Lakers would be better with RJ Barrett than AR
