I think the Wolves have a very good top seven. That doesn’t seem like enough, but these days with financial restraints, championship teams struggle to have a good top five. The Wolves will need Dillingham to contribute from Day One, a lot to ask of any rookie.

Dillingham is essentially stepping into the Jordan McLaughlin/Kyle Anderson role as a rookie playmaker. He absolutely needs to contribute right away, but he doesn't have the weight of the franchise entirely on his shoulders.

I think the Knicks start the season with the below 9 man rotation:

Starters: Brunson/Bridges/Anunoby/Randle/Robinson

Bench: McBride/DiVincenzo/Hart/Precious

Assume Brunson/Bridges are playing 35 MPG. Robinson/Precious split 48 minutes at C. Anunoby and Randle at 32 MPG. Leaves 13 MPG for Duce at backup PG and about 45 minutes to split between DDV/Hart backing up 2-4.

Obviously you expect that Anuoboy will miss time, and during those games you have an extra 32 MPG to split between Hart/DDV - with maybe some extra minutes for McBride or some filler minutes for Diop.

I think Kolek has a chance to take McBride's minutes as he's more of a playmaker than Duce and the offense really slowed down in the non-Brunson minutes last season. The best case scenario for the team is Kolek being impressive enough to take Duce's minutes.

Ideally, a Duce for front court depth opportunity presents itself around the deadline. And really (outside of upgrading from Randle as the #2 scorer) the weak point on the team is Mitch's durability. Precious is fine as a 18-20 MPG backup C, we just can't rely on Mitch for 30MPG for a full season.

If Randle is healthy, Deuce & DiVincenzo should be sufficient backcourt creation for the non-Brunson minutes to go a lot more smoothly this time around.

Last season those Deuce-Randle lineups had Grimes in them as the 2nd best player and though I'm still a big fan, the kid wasn't nearly aggressive enough with the ball to be the 2nd most skilled creator on the court. Getting DiVo in there instead should make a huge difference...as should another year of development & confidence from McBride, + more chemistry with Julius.

If Julius gets hurt again, then again those non-Brunson minutes could be brutal.

Sadly i think Willie is going to start CJ. He doesn't have the balls to bench him...
Also, there is no way Matkovic and Missi are getting more minutes then Theis and JRE. Matkovic has a chance to get some minutes later in the season, and Missi is not an NBA player right now, he is more then a project.

We need to trade Ingram for scraps and somehow make Willie bench CJ(hopefully fire him and let Borrego take over).

After tonight, I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if Amen starts at the 3. His defense, rebounding, and transition offense is hard to deny a rightful spot as a starter.

I would not be surprised either. The only thing keeping Amen and Eason from starting is Dillon Brooks being on the team.

Looking like the plan is for us to start the season with something like:

Starters:
Brunson - Hart - Bridges - Anunoby - Towns

*2nd Unit
Paybe/Kolek - McBride/Shamet - Achiuwa - Sims/Hukporti

With Thibs trying a lot of 3 guard lineups with the 2nd unit as long as Hart is starting, and Achiuwa getting minutes as the backup Center unless one of the kids runs with the job. Will be interesting to see if that is working too well for him to change up the starting 5 when Mitch returns, or if we'll transition to a more Minnesota-like:

Starters
Brunson - Bridges - Anunoby - Towns - Robinson

*2nd Unit:
A) Payne/Kolek - McBride - Hart - Achiuwa - Sims/Huk
B) Payne/Kolek - Payne/Shamet - McBride - Hart - Achiuwa

*since Thibs refuses to concede any minutes, one (or two) of the starting wings will likely be cycled in to bolster those second units when needed, but this is what it looks like the coaching staff is hoping will work.

Haven't really seen how Atkinson wants to run his lineups. Atkinson has committed to playing 10+. I'll list the bench as the spots they could play.

Starters: Garland/Mitchell/Strus/Mobley/Allen
Guaranteed rotation guys: LeVert(1-3)/Okoro(2-4)/Wade(3-5)
Possible rotation guys: Jerome(1-2)/Merrill(2)/Niang(3-4)
Situational subs: Tyson(1-4?)/Thompson(5)
Odd man out for now: Craig Porter Jr. (1)
Two-ways: Thor(4-5)/Travers(3-4)/Bates(2-3)
