Nets/Sixers (#3/Oubre/filler for #8/CJ)

2025-26 salary

Cam Johnson - 20.5M
#8 pick - 5.7M
26.2M

Kelly Oubre - 8.4M
Andre Drummond - 5M
Eric Gordon - 3.5M
#3 pick - 9.3M
$26.2M

The Nets move up to take a swing on upside. This roster is pretty bare bones and with the underwhelming free agent market feels destined for a tanking year. This eyes the 2026 off season to make major moves (although I haven't bothered to look at free agency that year yet).

The Sixers slide back and continue to play the 2 timelines game. Cam gives them a quality starter while they can look for a long-term outlook swing at #8 with less pressure to perform immediately. Salary neutral move, but does add a few million to the cap when you factor in roster spots.

I’d be asking for the 2028 first back here? Or any future first I guess, since Philly isn’t limited due to owning the LAC first and the pick they owe is well enough protected..

Not me. This isn’t enough to move up to three!

I guess it comes down to how Philly views Cam and the prospects at 3-8. I do t see a huge separation there in 3-8, and I like Cam as really solid player.

I would do this if I knew Embiid is healthy. Since he's most likely not, I'd rather just have the better prospect.

i think this was a yossi gozlan trade suggestion and it makes a good deal of sense. i think he had it in a version where the nets took on a little more salary than this to get philly below whatever threshold they project to be close to if they resign grimes. i think there is something to a framework along these lines.

Not sure if there's benefit cap wise to adding more players to this from a rules perspective. If there is, guys like Lonnie Walker and Ricky Council, but they have contracts that aren't guaranteed, so it doesn't really help team salary.

Include the PHI 28 1st returned and it's a done deal.

here's one i found that yosi suggested, i could have sworn there was another one with camj in it too but i cant find that one. i think he means the 2027 PHI protected 1st the nets own that rolls over to 2028 if not conveyed here.

The pick money doesn't count on draft night, so this would hard cap Philly at the 1st apron, which should be a no go.

Oubre, Council, Drummond, Walker, Gordon, and 3 for Cam, 8, and 28 1st returned works right now.

If adding Walker/Council avoids that, it makes sense. I can't keep track of what triggers which hard cap (1st vs 2nd apron)

The homerun swap here is:

#3/George for #8/Johnson/Claxton/2027 PHI 1st

Otherwise, just stand pat if you're Philly.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

3 for 8 + ___ needs a much better player than Johnson filling that blank

You're not turning the albatross PG contract into Johnson and Claxton plus getting 2 picks back especially one as good as #8.

Yeah if Brooklyn had bad filler I could see the 3/PG for 8 swap.

But I think this one is closer without 8 (but keep the 27 1st) and maybe add a future pick or the lesser BKN picks.

PG, 3 for Cam, Clax, 19, 26, 2027 PHI 1st

I don’t think Philly should do that but it’s better on value imo

Yea, my point is, there is no deal to be had IMO.

That sounds about right to me.
