Kings - Magic
Wagner Bros/Carter
For
Sabonis/Monk
I think it makes both teams better. Magic go PB/Sabonis/Bane/Suggs core in the East…gives them a chance to be top four. It’s a better fit IMO. Sac resets around Wagner/Murray/Keon/Carter, GM puts his stamp and moves Sabonis to a good situation.
The money is almost even.

It's hard to justify trading Franz for Sabonis. Franz has all-NBA potential.

Re: Kings - Magic
I am sort of a Sabonis hater I guess, like I enjoy watching him play but I think he is not better than 4th best player on a playoff team, so this trade feels multiple unprotected firsts light.

Franz is one of the most overrated players. Not sure what he does so well that every seems to appreciate. He is equivalent to MPJ.

Huh? Completely different players lol.
Franz is one of the best on ball defenders in the NBA and can finish at the rim better than 95% of the league.

being 6'10" is the only thing I can think of that they have in common.
MPJ is the better shooter from 3, so far....EVERYTHING (literally everything) else is all Franz.

Re: Kings - Magic
I think it goes without saying based on every other Magic fan's reply already, but I think there's going to be almost zero interest in a Franz-for-Sabonis framework.
Even without the jumper he's a 6'10 slasher with a crazy ability to finish at the rim. Good defense, good off-ball movement, 24 at the start of the next season, locked up for the next few years alongside a 23-year-old Paolo and 27 year-old-Bane.
I just can't see the Magic interested in moving him unless a godfather type offer comes along or it's in a package for a top-10 kind of guy.

Re: Kings - Magic
The Magic are built on defense, they're not going to ruin that culture to shoehorn in Sabonis... who also needs the ball to perform at his best... I think that's the wrong goal and that's leaving aside the fact that Wagner is the best player when it comes to winning the playoffs, if they would like to add an offensive center they could trade for Vucevic, much cheaper, knows the house and would fit better in the role he would have...
if I were the Magic I would offer Goga + Howard to the BUCKS for B. Lopez ST...
The Magic get a veteran center that can stretch the floor and complete a contender and the BUCKS get some youth in what I believe will be a transition year..

I wouldn’t trade Franz and bad contracts for Sabonis/Monk.

Re: Kings - Magic
Not close. Franz is a 2 way player, Sabonis is a bad defender at the most important defensive position
