Re: Toronto and OKC
Yeah I think there’s a potential deal here but OKC is high on Topic and can make reasonable offers without him.

Rockets trade #9
OKC trades #15, #25, 2026 HOU 1st top 4 prot
Rockets get some additional trade flexibility to make moves after the draft
Thunder consolidate a bit
historically 10 went for 15 and 20 (zach collins i believe), or 16 + a juicier future 1st (bridges for zhaire smith), so i think 9 for 15/24/future late 1st is about right
Here's the history through 2022 of trades in this area of the lottery moving up 5 or 6 spots. This suggests 15 plus 24 is a little light.
2001: 13 + 18 + 23 for 7 (6 spots)
2016: 13 + 28 + 2nd + rights to Bog. Bogdanovic for 8 (5 spots)
2013: 14 + 21 for 9 (5 spots)
2000: 15 + fut 1st for 9 (6 spots)
2017: 15 + 20 for 10 (5 spots)
2018: 16 + fut 1st for 10 (6 spots)
2014: 16 + 19 + 2nd for 11 (5 spots)

Re: Toronto and OKC
Yeah no reason to include Topic. OKC clearly likes him and they have plenty of other assets to balance the scales with. FWIW I'd rather have Topic + 15 than 9 unless something crazy happens

OKC has a roster crunch, and especially in the backcourt (Shai/Caruso/Cason/Dort/IJoe all need minutes) so its very possible they will use Topic to consolidate more high end talent.
The problem is that Topic is more high end talent than anyone available at 9 will be. Pre-injury last year he was looked at as a top 5 pick. Obviously it's not 1 to 1 d/t the strengths of the draft, but the 9th pick tonight probably wouldn't be worth Topic alone to OKC.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
