Also, I think the Rockets are a legitimate threat to poach Ty from the Cavs now.

I don't think they'd go into the tax for him, more likely they throw like $7M at Merrill I think and stay out of the tax

I have Merrill as pretty duplicative with Sheppard on the roster, as to where Ty brings a skill set that they need with Green gone and only FVV as a PG, but YMMV.

I do like the idea of NAW on this Rockets team, but he'll cost closer to full MLE though

This feels like it's setup to blow up in his face honestly. Like he gets injured and never gets another big deal.

He made $83.6 M in 2 years.
$83.6 + 50 = 133.6.
4 years @ 33.6 AAV.
3 years @ $36.3 if he declines PO

He did ok.
They were declining the TO either way.

This is solid all the way around.

Unfortunately Houston looks like a force next year.

I think Houston needed to keep FVV no matter what with them going all in on Durant. He could've played hardball but probably wanted to help them improve their team, or got a wink wink and will sign for 3-4 years next summer.

He felt like a solid $30M/yr player, so this is good value. Kind of surprised it's that short, though with the PO perhaps FVV wanted it short.
