ATL/OKC
Let's just say that Atlanta did better moving down from #13 than it would have in the trade with OKC I suggested the other day.
But I'm back because these teams seem like perfect partners - ATL is going to be a lot better but desperately needs shooting, has a big trade exception to work with, and has roster space available; OKC has a roster crunch, after the playoffs it's clear that Wiggins is ahead of Joe in the rotation, and as shown by the trade with Sacramento for #24 last night, they're in move current assets for future assets mode.
So:
ATL in / OKC out: Isaiah Joe, Ousmane Dieng (into trade exception)
OKC in / ATL out: 2029 ATL 1st, lottery protected (lottery protected again 2030, two seconds if neither first conveys)

Re: ATL/OKC
Can't they just bring Garrison Matthews back? I don't know if the delta between Joe and Matthews is worth tying up two years of picks you can trade, at least for the Hawks.

Is that really your most throwaway first ? Your own ?
I’m not sure why OKC didn’t insist kings take on Dieng … kinda worrrid on that count .

Honestly I think OKC chills for a bit, lets the dust settle, and trades him later or just waives him if necessary.
I don’t think there was a scenario where they traded a member of the team a day after the parade.

This seems like a bad reason. If he’s a rotational player I get that sentimentality .

For a cheap shooter, I guess this would work. Not the biggest fan of adding on Dieng though, even though we're using the TPE here.

I don’t think Dieng adds much value to any team, but Newell is there now and should get any minutes he can handle.
And I don’t think Atlanta should tie up their future firsts, even though it’s well protected.

Atlanta isn't tying up a future 1st for this.

The Hawks would be unwise to give up future assets for this.

Re: ATL/OKC
LeVert is suppose to resign so not a big need at SG, I think a PG could be a need. Just don't see any team giving a 1st for him, especially sending out pure cap space. I think he is a neutral contract, not outplaying his contract by a 1st. If they want more shooting they could get Kennard for cheap or take in Hauser for less as well. No reason to tie up a 1st at all here. A couple 2nds is what I would expect for Joe with expiring matching salary.

Yeah. If these guys are going with no salary coming back, feels like Atlanta would keep their 1st here? Maybe even get a 2nd or two?

Re: ATL/OKC
Joe is a fan favorite but I’d be in favor of something like this just to get the TPE(s).
Would love to get like 3-4 seconds if possible.
The first definitely feels too burdensome.
