Kings - Utah - Toronto

Post#1 » by LightTheBeam » Fri Jun 27, 2025 4:09 am

Combining some rumors here. Let me say I dont love the trade myself, but putting some stuff together.

Perry was part of knicks when they drafted IQ
Toronto has* interest in Monk
Utah has too many point guards

Kings out: Monk, Jval, 26 charlotte 2nd
Kings in: IQ

Perry gets his guy. IQ is brought in as the pg of the future.

Toronto out: IQ
Toronto in: Monk, keyonte George, Jval

Why for Toronto? Get a young pg with potential, a backup center, and monk who they had interest in.

Utah out: George
Utah in: Charlotte 2nd

Turn one of their pgs into a high upside 2nd next year.

Thoughts on report about interest in Monk?

Think it's real? If so doesnt iq and monk feel to redundant together.

I mean it is a decent offer but IMHO Toronto can't move Quickley yet. I like Quick in the starting lineup SS he's a solid shooter and defender. Value is solid but just creates a problem Toronto has Walter, Monk, Gradey, RJ, Shead, George, Ochai and Martin. I think the Monk deal was a smoke screen unless it's for RJ with other pieces

Ya makes sense, only scenario I'd be okay with RJ is if Demar or LaVine are outgoing. Cant imagine toronto wants either.

I don't know why we would move Keyonte for a 2nd. Makes no sense to me.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

The team just drafted a gunner guard to replace Keyonte in what is clearly a vote of no confidence in him. We're probably looking to dump him for nothing.

Neither Clayton or Keyonte have any hope of playing PG in the NBA on offense or SG in the NBA on defense. They're chuckers off the bench and there's no value to having multiple of these guys.

Gonna pass on just getting a second for George. IMO opinion Utah has to quickly moved off of their young guards. We could still have Grayson Allen and NAW who both developed into better players after they left Utah and again….I think it was Utah giving up too early. Young guards take time to develop. Only the mega star guards come into the league good. The above average guards usually take time.

Long way of saying no thanks, I want at least one more season of George before I give up on him, probably two.

Toronto trading their best shooter, ball-handler, and passer doesn't address their roster issues.

Yeah for the Raps, it would be RJ+2nd for Monk + JV

Then have Monk come off the bench as a scorer.

Quick had injuries they'll give him a shot to show out. They wouldn't do this deal. The Raptors need a consolidating deal not breaking down assets into lesser pieces.
