1. Grant is a kind of a player you trade for, to help Dame win, and then you are forced to trade Dame
2. Kuzma is a kind of a player you trade for, to help Giannis win, and then you start conversations about Giannis future
3. MPJ is a kind of a player you start on a championship team

So it is obvious MPJ should never be in any trades featuring other 2 as main parts. As far as Portland-Milwauke it is s*it for s*it trade. You load your garbage in the neighburs yard, he loads into yours. In this case Portland will have to pay because garbage truck comes faster for Kuzma, than for Grant.

As far as other players mentioned Jrue is a player that was a starter for championship winning teams. He is also 35 and will be paid $37M at the age of 37. If Portland fans think he was brought to be 37/37 mentor, ok. I think he was brought because Boston was desperate to get out of 2nd apron. And Portland was trying to get something/anything for Simons. It was clear Boston will have to pay to offload Jrue's contract and it paid by excepting Portlands garbage (Portland even needed to pay to offload it). Now Portland can try to do the same thing they did when they got him first time, try to get some value for him. Or keep him as mentor.

So if trade is something around MPJ for Jrue, I would be open about idea, just Portland will have to pay for it. Or 3rd team that gets MPJ, while Portland gets something/nothing of value back depending on what else they offer in a trade.

Other Portland players contending teams might be interested in, mentioned here - Camara. I like him a lot, has super-role player potential.
Avdia - I like him a lot, on a great contract, but he is 5 years in the league, 1 full season as a starter, never played for team trying to win. Blazers fans tend to overrate him based on expectations, fair case, but still overrate him for what he has shown in his 5 years in the league. Not worth asking price.
Thybulle, Williams are just names, not players any more.

Williams and Thybulle's trade value is pretty low given they missed most of the season last year. I'm not sure what you expect that those guys to fetch Portland. (I'm not saying Portland should, therefore, make this proposed deal.)

MPJ only has 1 year left beyond this one. He'll be 29 when his contract expires and could be retained on a much more appropriate deal, around $25M/year like Tobias Harris got from Detroit. Or he could be a valuable expiring next year.

Avdija had a great season and is on one of the best contracts in the NBA. Not sure Portland wants to trade him at all, but this is the guy Denver would ostensibly be after. If Portland didn't want to deal Avdija (or didn't think MPJ, Strawther, and/or Denver's 2031 was enough compensation), perhaps the deal could be for Holiday:

MPJ and Strawther (or 2031 1st?) for Holiday, Williams, and Thybulle.

Since 2021-2022, Grant has only played in more than 50 games in 1 season (63), which was his 1st season with the Blazers. (Robert Williams has played 61 games total the last 3 seasons. He's worth 0 on his own in a trade.)

Would be a stupid trade for Milwaukee, imo. Grant is chronically injured and not a clear upgrade in the role he'd have in Milwaukee even if he were healthy. The only way I'd even consider this deal if I were running Milwaukee would be if I got a 1st and a pick swap from Portland.

Grant has been sitting on a tanking team, though of course he has his share of injuries.

Not sending FRP to move him. Better to hold onto those MIL picks/swaps in the hope they pan out.

Grant can just be an overpaid mistake since he only enough to recoup any serious value with Deni and Camara ahead of him.

Why for Denver: get couple defensive specialists if healthy and save money next year. See if Kuzma can be rehabbed next to Jokic
Why for Milwaukee: upgrade on court

Cut Denver out. Kuzma/PatC for Grant. Deal doesn’t change for Bucks. Blazers save way more money than taking on MPJ and Nnaji. I don’t like Kuzma, but the savings are worth it.

Agreed. Kuzma and Pat for Grant and one of our smaller contracts (Murray, Rupert, or Reath) would make the most sense here.
