CobyW for JSmith
Maybe Chi throws in the Port pick?
I assume their values are very similar, with both looking at $30 million contracts next summer
Hou has depth up front and badly needs shooting. KD is best playing the 4 on D now
FVV/Reed
White/vet FA
Amen/Whitmore
KD/Eason
Sengun/Adams
Bulls just drafted Noa but he's 2 years away. I like Matas more at the 3
Giddey/Ayo/JCarter
Okoro/Huerter/Terry
Matas/PWill/Phillips
JSmith/Noa
Vuc/Collins/JSmith
That's a big lineup, with a lot of defense (especially if we move Vuc)

Re: White for Smith
A more descriptive title would be helpful here IMO.
That being said, I don't think Houston considers this unless they've resigned themselves to not extending Jabari

Re: White for Smith
You are trying to trade for something that isnt available, so Houston’s price would be exorbitant.

I'm not sure I understand-I am trying to say White/Smith have similar values.
I just think Hou could use the scoring, and they have Eason to play more minutes
I like Matas at the 3 more, and JSmith is a good fit. Noa-who knows what he will be

Re: White for Smith
Houston is owed here. I'm not the biggest Jabari guy, but there's a tax to go from defensive wing/big who can shoot vs combo scoring guard and while they're both expiring, one is restricted and the other is not

I do not agree
Jabari is:
- younger, ie will continue to improve, while White will not.
- cheaper, one more year of rookie deal vs midlevel salary for White
- controlled, RFA vs expiring contract
- more desirable archetype, defensive, shooting stretch four is one of the most sought after archetypes in the league, undersized guards are a dime a dozen. Sexton, of similar ilk to White was basically just had for free.
Value aside....
We also have Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard, two highly talented prospects waiting for minutes at the guard spot, nothing from a stretch four perspective.
We have our MLE and if we were so inclined could pursue a free agent of similar caliber to White. Jerome, for example, a better player, is out there. There is also Harden lurking out there, a vastly superior player, who could make a homecoming.
My price for Jabari would be a solid rotation player, such as White, plus 3 future firsts. Not saying the Bulls should do that, but that would be my price.
If the Rockets liked White, I imagine they would offer to absorb him into the MLE for a couple seconds, or maybe Cam Whitmore.
