For the twitterless:

NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has agreed to a four-year, $285 million super maximum contract extension with the championship Oklahoma City Thunder through 2030-31, sources tell ESPN. This is now the richest annual salary for a player in league history.

Man, huge props to Shai's agent.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Never take these for granted. Huge win for OKC.

Now that we have these numbers we can project the next few years assuming max rookie deals, with and without JDub’s bump.

I think he'll be alright
https://www.forbes.com/profile/thad-foucher/

Shai clearly let him go knowing the supermax was coming his way no matter what and there was no point in having Foucher take a percentage.

CBA opt out is after '28-'29. Hopefully the league feels like they overcorrected and are harming teams for making good decisions at that point, but we've been screwed by every CBA/league decision basically since the team moved to OKC.
