Indiana Pacers Net Rating with Nembhard and without Haliburton in the PO is -6.75, In RS it's -4.75, they are a terrible team with Nembhard and w/o Haliburton on the floor, I'm sure me watching more would help these stats, but not by much.

I'm not plugged into stats of this kind, but I wonder what these non-Hali lineups were. We'll soon see lineups without Ty and Myles. I wouldn't rush into trades.

That's fair, but please don't assume people aren't watching because they have different opinion than you about a player on your favourite team, especially when they are the only ones with numbers to back their claims.
I watched enough to have a very strong opinion that Nembhard is a very good combo guard, but I don't want him running offense for my team, feel free to disagree.

Nembhard (Nemby) is clearly the starting PG and ball handler. McConnell also is.

We've had this argument before, agree to disagree, Nembhard is not a good on ball PG IMO.

As for Obi statements, probably an eye of the beholder thing? They clearly don’t make it as far in the playoffs without him. I think Indy would value the 3rd big man moreso than the 3rd PG right now? If McConnell were moved, I’d probably feel differently? Heck, if Myles were kept, I’d also feel very differently, and would gladly swap the two.

Also, Obi played a lot of center in the playoffs next to Siakam. He’s not a huge body to guard the embiid’s of the world, but he’s big enough to guard his lost teams play, with 4 sized players as 5.

None of this is ideal, but it’s probably our least bad scenario? Make this deal, and Pritchard is playing the 3, with Nesmith at the 4, and Siakam at the 5 for a lot of minutes? Having Obi would keep Indy in a better “situation”, even if Pritchard is the better player.

Yes, there is an element of eye of the beholder, but stats give a very strong indication he wasn't a positive player.
On/Off stats can be wrong, but for me, combined with the eye test, I just don't consider him a good player, and huge gap of value between him and Pritchard.

We’ve just seen an entire playoff run that would not have existed without Nembhard being a quality lead ball handler, as Haliburton got iced out a ton in each series, and Nembhard largely operated as lead ball handler each round. And Indy would not have advanced without Obi either. They may not be your style or taste, but we’ve just seen them produce at the highest level.

Local reporters seem comfortable with Nembhard and TJ but wonder if we need a third veteran at point. Currently we have rookie Kam Jones and last year's two-ways RayJ and Q. I think we only need to be good enough to make it through the "gap."

I thought you guys would bring up Turner and yes, it's an issue but I'm thinking the Pacers always really hated Turner and was glad to let him go rather than pay him Naz Reid money. They can thrive with a mobile rim-runner next to Nembhard since Siakam and Brown will drive their offense anyway.

I don't think the Pacers ever hated Turner. Some people mostly you say this because he was always in trade rumors. That's because he's a shot blocking 3 point shooter and good defender at the 5. Everyone was calling on him all the time. But no team ever offered the right kind of package for him and they traded Sabonis instead to get Haliburton.

The Pacers were just not willing to pay tax with Haliburton out and no real chance to repeat their run.

I would have kept him and traded someone else. It was a shock that the Bucks stretch waived Lillard to sign Turner. But that was in an effort to keep Giannis happy. I think this will fail as the Bucks just don't have enough talent around GA. They take a $22.5 million dead money cap hit for the next 5 years. They've traded off their picks, and I think improving without control of your picks is tough.

As for your Trade OP Haliburton for Brown, it's interesting but the Pacers have no center now unless you call Tony Bradley an NBA center.

That's a fun team to watch so I wouldn't hate it. I'd have to look at the money situation because Brown does make more than Haliburton by about $9 million a year.

That may have been the case in 2024-25 but the up coming season will be new challenges and a whole new equation for the Pacers. I am looking forward to seeing how Nembhard handles the challenge of being the starting point guard. There is nothing that can be done now to replace Tyrese and Turner is gone, so unless there is a shot blocking 3pt shooting 5 out there they can get for next to nothing, this is the hand Indiana is dealt.

Trading Ty for Jaylen might be a great idea, but I don't expect it to happen.

I'd give Q Jackson a 2 year deal at minimum with the 2nd year not guaranteed. No risk in that. Like you said to get through the gap. We don't know what the new season will be like but it will be different.
