Good value, but the Timberwolves would be left without starting cailber Center. Unless the Timberwolves are actually planning to punt this upcoming season, atleast one of those picks would need to go towards a starting level center.
Also, I don't see any reason for the Hornets to do this. Rudy Gobert is not on their timeline and adding him will not all the sudden change the losing culture of the Hornets and make them a viable playoff team. The Hornets need to go younger at the big men position.

Was Gobert on Minny timeline when they traded for him?
This isn't even half as bad as Minny gave up either, Charlotte would still own all their own future firsts after this deal so it isn't like they are making Gobert their one and only move. Talent is talent, I don't really think it matters if he is on the same timeline as the rest of the group, you can't pay everyone all at the same time anyways in the new CBA.

Re: Gobert on the move to the East
This trade at first glance didn’t make sense for either Minny or Charlotte. But giving it another look-see, I’m kind of warming up to it.
The Wolves would be losing their (some would say) transformational defensive stopper that was acquired to help bring a veteran, winner, a defensive presence to a franchise that literally was the worst in professional sports. However, that was 3 years ago. This trade brings several future assets that could be used to acquire a sorely needed PG and probably a journeyman center.
Some might say that Charlotte is in the same position as Minnesota was 3 years back. They do this trade for the exact same reasons the Wolves did.
As a Wolves fan, I appreciate what Rudy did for our franchise, but it might be time to let him go for this sincere offer.
