We would not trade Eason for Durant, I think it is a safe bet he won't be moved for Grimes or McCain.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

Tyrese Maxey / Jared McCain / Kyle Lowry
VJ Edgecombe / Eric Gordon
Kelly Oubre / Justin Edwards / [Paul George]
Tari Eason / Trendon Watford
Johni Broome / Adem Bona / Andre Drummond / [Joel Embiid]

Fred Van Vleet / Reed Sheppard / Aaron Holliday
Quentin Grimes / Josh Okogie
Amen Thompson / Dorian Finney-Smith / Jae'Sean Tate
Kevin Durant / Jabari Smith / Jeff Green
Alperen Sengun / Steven Adams / Clint Capela

Not possible due to houston being right up against the cap, and grimes not having much if any trade value

I'm a big fan of McCain...but Eason is a proven excellent fit and I think HOU has reason to believe that Sheppard will give them what McCain would. HOU's 2-way depth and versatility (Eason and Jabari can both play at multiple spots) makes this uninteresting, IMO, for HOU. Value is fair, maybe even favors McCain, but not for HOU.

McCain on the rookie deal is slightly more valuable.

Instead, Grimes for Eason feels like the right deal to me.

so you think mccain is only slightly more valuable than grimes? Keep in mind you traded caleb martin for grimes, and some nice stat padding on a tanking team isn't going to change the valuation much

I think Grimes's value will ultimately depend on what deal he gets this summer. If he's maintained at or under $15 mil AAV, then I think it's a homerun. I believe NAW's 4-year, $62 mil deal is a fair comp.

Assuming that, and to answer your question, I'd rank value as: McCain > Eason = Grimes. Eason is also due for an extension and will likely be priced over $15 million AAV. Furthermore, I think Eason would be more valuable to Philly than Houston, and vice versa with Grimes.

Interesting challenge trade, eye of the beholder I guess depending on quite a few things, though I think in general the problem for the Sixers is that Eason will need a contract sooner and they're really capped out here (over tax line, still under first apron.) going into the aprons for this trade specifically seems questionable.

Similarly, for the Rockets, they'd probably have incentive to do this if just for the cap management problem, even if they love Eason.
