Mavs complete rebuilding

Post#1 » by Darren » Sun Aug 10, 2025 3:37 am

AD to GSW
Kuminga, TJD, Heild and 2nd to CHA
Ball, Green, GSW 1st to Mavs

Kyrie to ORL
F.Wagner and 1st to DAL

The Mavs gets multiple rebuilding pieces and pick. GSW gets another all star. Kuminga gets more opportunities in CHA. CHA turns Ball into multiple rebuilding pieces. Orlando gets the key point as a final piece.

C - DLive / Gafford / Powell waived?
PF - Wagner / OMax / Marshall trade?
SF - PJ Washington / Green / Martin trade?
SG - Flagg / Christie / Hardy / Klay trade?
PG - Ball / BWill / DoLo trade? Exum waived?

The Kyrie trade might be even more ridiculous. No way the Magic do that.

I don't want to be mean, but this may be the worst trade I've ever seen on this board.

Edit: If I'm going to say something like that I guess I should elaborate.

Hornets: LaMelo Ball may be a bit overrated, but he's a draw and a true All Star talent. Kuminga is just another guy. He wouldn't even start over Bridges or Miller or Knueppel. How is Hield a "rebuilding piece"? And they have to give up a first rounder on top of that? This is the worst talent downgrade I've ever seen proposed on this board.

Magic - Wagner is 23 years old. He should make multiple All Star games during his prime. The Magic gave Suggs big money and traded for Bane. Their back court - and most likely, entire starting lineup is set for years to come. Breaking that up for a 33 year old expensive guard coming off an injury does absolutely nothing for this team. Plus, Kyrie is about to sign an extension. They aren't trading him.

Warriors - they basically get Anthony Davis for free. They give up pretty much nothing here. Makes no sense.

Mavericks - Well, they get two young potential long time All Stars, and a first round pick, for two near broken down players. I mean, definite win win for them.

The Orlando trade is really rough.

GSW likely needs to include Dray in order for that deal to legal. They honestly owe a good amount of value, but that just blends in with Dallas stealing so much..

Charlotte needs a bunch more value.

Dont think magic trades wagner for kyrie straight up, heck, if the pick went the other way i still dont think orlando do it.

First 1, not sure why hornets get involved. Judy cut them out and i can squint and see a gsw mavs trade

These are just brutal for Charlotte and Orlando. Neither team is doing anything near these offers.

That’s nowhere close to working under CBA rules, either. Even if Kuminga was maxed out, the Warriors couldn’t take back AD’s salary.

The Mavs better be content with what the Warriors are sending out for AD because that's the only team that even considers it.

Just way too ambitious. Orlando can't trade a young cornerstone piece for an injured Kyrie with a PO on his deal, meaning you might only get 26-27 out of him. Had Kyrie not gotten hurt, he made a ton of sense for the Magic to target instead of Bane. But never at the cost of one of their core pieces.

Then there is no chance an RFA with minimal market somehow returns AD.

And while I believe Charlotte should escape Ball if possible, Kuminga is the exact wrong kind of guy to target.

And thats before we just accept the clear reality that Dallas isn't trading AD or Kyrie much less both. I don't think even if Dallas is a bottom 3 team this year that they pivot to that at the deadline. But definitely not now. Nico/Vegas have too much personally riding on this.

The Magic are surrendering a pick to turn Wagner into Kyrie?

Am I reading that right?

Yikes.

Why not go for broke? Klay Thompson & a 2nd rounder to Milwaukee for Giannis, PJ Washington and an air fryer to Denver for Jokic

To me this values Kyrie and Ball way to high and AD to low.

Seems backwards. And Orlando wouldn’t trade Franz for Kyrie and a 1st.
