If the bulls did this it would be to kick the can a year down the road when suddenly Scoot is asking for 25-30 million as well. Maybe since he isn't as good maybe they get him for sub 20 million.

I agree that, right now, Giddey is clearly the better player and he's very young himself. But, this assumes the Bulls/Josh can't reach a deal. S&T deals with RFA's don't bring back much value. MAYBE the Bulls can keep the Port pick, which would have more value now.

Bulls hope for a top 4 pick next year. Imagine adding Peterson to a young core of Henderson/Noa/Matas-that could really turn into something. At the moment, assuming Giddey is back, we're looking at another Playin season.
This deal, and trading White, sets us up better for the future (plus, White would bring back positive value)
