Cavs and Thunder

Cavs get: Ousmane Dieng, '26 1st round pick via Jazz and '28 2nd via Jazz
Thunder get: Dean Wade

Why?
Cavs get a player they liked in the draft who still has potential and also get a 1st round pick and a 2nd.
Thunder get a battle tested stretch 4 on a cheap deal. Thunder don't have a true stretch 4.

I don’t see why a potential contender would want Dieng.

Aside from the legality concerns brought up, the Thunder have Jaylin Williams for a stretch 4/5 (he's a plenty competent shooter for what they need), and they often play small anyway. They don't really need to give picks to dump Dieng, they can just let his contract run out.

Doubt the Thunder want to trade picks for a player in Wade who won’t crack their rotation.

It feels like a Dieng trade should be something like

Dieng to Charlotte (just an example) so they can take a long look at him.

Charlotte sends cheaper contract(s) to a 3rd team for that team to save money.

3rd team sends a somewhat useful player that they’re not interested in keeping to the Thunder

3rd team saves money, Thunder get a (possibly) minor upgrade, Charlotte takes a look at Dieng

Random low seconds maybe get moved around

Yea this for OKC at trade deadline . Maybe even a two way between OKC and Charlotte then.
