Jazz-Bucks-Pels

Post#1 » by nolian » Tue Oct 7, 2025 9:52 am

JAZZ
K.Anderson + Nurkic + very conditionated FRP x DejounteMurray

BUCKS
Kuzma x K.Anderson + HerbertJones

PELS
D.Murray + H.Jones x Kuzma, Nurkic, FRP from Jazz

Jazz: sell two players they don't want in their roster for an injuryed players that however is younger and more compatible with their project (both as player and as future asset). The FRP doesn't is a big renounce per them because they have too many future picks

Bucks: easy switch Kuzma in two good player. SloMo bring QI and playmaking, HJ bring great defense

Pels: they acquired j.Poole and have a lot of SG/SF to develope. Poole, Hawkins, Alvarado, Fears, Peavy, T.MurphyIII, Bey are already a lot for 3 rotatione at PG, SG, SF. Kuzma and Nurkic (expiring) will go from bench behind Zion and Missi/Looney (and D.Queen)

This is absolutely terrible for the Pelicans. They are not going to dump Herb Jones for a mediocre first in a year they don't have their own pick just because they got Saddiq Bey.

Wait you’re allowed to turn bad players like Kuzma into good players without adding anything?

This changes everything

The Bucks don’t have enough draft capitol to turn Kuzma into Herb.

The Jazz would definitely try to cut the Bucks out of this and take Jones for themselves, but even if you cut them out, it's still shouldn't work for the Pelicans. That's how bad this is for N.O.

The pick is headed in the wrong direction. If the Jazz are taking on the injured Murray then they're getting compensated to do so.

I don't agree
DJMurray is injuryed but is a good player for the Jazz, in exchange of two players that will be buyout-ed if they were not traded before
DJM can be the playmaker they need to help develope of their young rookies or to help Markannen to have a great stats and upgrade his trade value
at the end also DJM can be a trade asset
Neither SloMo and Nurkic will have a trade value in the nexts months

Milwaukee can add their draft capitol, but their future FRP have a great value (that will be a probable lottery pick), so they can add FRP (and a filler contract) if Pels add a ready to use player (Alvarado or Hawkins)

if the Jazz try t cut the Bucks from the trade, that trade doesn't work.
Murray+HJ cost about of 45M, more than Nurkic and KyleAnderson

***

so i can re-try

Bucks add 2031/2032 FRP top 8 protected, and one (choice by Pels) between Green, Smith, Jackson
Pels add Alvarado

We would rather just let Nurkic expire. I agree the pick was heading the wrong way. Even if Murray is healthy I do not think he is worth his contract. That said, I feel like Kuzma + filler for Murray could make sense for both teams once he is playing.

If the Pelicans put Herb on the trade market, he will be highly sought over. I doubt If the Bucks deal here is offered it would win out --- a bad 2 year deal in Kuzma, a protected 1st 6 years away and you want them to throw in another small positive in Alvarado. Even if you took out Alvarado out of the deal and made the pick unprotected then you are likely in the ballpark at least depending on how negative the Pelicans view Kuzma's 2nd year versus likely looking at offers of a protected 1st with clean money or expirings coming back from a few other teams.

Pelicans dont own their pick next year, they are not downgrading their team for future protected picks

That's fine because they certainly wouldn't be getting any for Murray. 8-)

Honestly, it's still not enough for the Pelicans, but even if it was, what are the Bucks doing trading for non-shooters.

That part makes sense certainly, just that it was nonsensical for the Jazz to be the ones footing the bill with draft assets.

Yeh I don't see the Pels motivation. Even Dumars isn't going to do something this illogical (again).

my opinion is that Pels have a lot of young players in backcourt, and can't delevop all of these
so i think they could prefer sacrifice one or two of them (DJM or DJM+Alvarado/Hawkins) for take player in front court in addition to draft compensation

Obviously I don't know if they think the same, but that is reason (i think) for them in that trade

Herb Jones is clearly being undervalued here, and/or Kuzma is being vastly overvalued.

If Milwaukee could turn Kuzma into SloMo, I think they’d be ecstatic right now? They can’t get Herb for that. That’s just outlandish.

Yeah, even adding a protected first is definitely not enough, Kuzma by itself might command a pick to be traded for an expiring usable player(like SlowMo)

Herb if in the market would easily land more than that offer. Great defender that can hit the open three, 3 assists per game and hit over 80% from FT, locked in for decent contract. Not many of those around
