Re: Who wants Rui Hachimura?
Lakers are keeping him we need as much size as we can get IT'S THE WEST.
That said I think Rui/Reaves FRP etc might be part of a HUGE TRADE that could land Lakers someone like Giannis/Jokic (don't think any happen, but you never know) if it did they're the best pieces, to do a HUGE TRADE whether 1-1 trade or 3 team trade etc.

I think Lakers want him to become a small ball C off the bench.

Rui + Vincent to CHI for Williams + Ayo. Williams is more of a 3 than Rui is. Williams is listed as a 4, but is more of a 3 than Rui is. Ayo provides 3 and D in the backcourt, and is more switchy than Vincent.
Bulls unload William's 18m per year for 4 more years.

Something like this, seems balanced enough to me.
PG: Smart | Vincent | Bronny
SG: Reaves | Knecht | Davis
SF: Luka | LaRavia | Thiero
PF: LeBron | Vando | Kleber
C : Ayton | Rui | Hayes
If Lakers make a trade it will be to add Kleber+Vincent expirings to one of the starting or bench players to upgrade them.

Pretty sure they will have vando guard/box out the opponent Cs

He's better as help defense, so you'd match Rui on the big and Vando would come over to help.

Re: Who wants Rui Hachimura?
Looks good on paper. We will see. Keep in mind though, supposedly Lakers were interested in Wiggins, so they might be willing to role with Hayes and Koloko as the backup 5's. If Rui + Knecht + Vincent are dealt for Wiggins, then the rotation gets smaller. Smart goes to backup 1 and 2, and Hayes backup 5.Godaddycurse wrote:zimpy27 wrote:scoobs07 wrote:That would be fine, I guess.

Rui for Royce/Richards but that’s a shot in the dark. Rui is a solid bench wing likely to get mle money on next deal but offers little in regards of defense and true versatility that leads to winning so his value is limited.

I am fine with him as a backup 5 option, but I dont want him to be the main option there
We need a more defensive minded C
I like Rui, has been a very good shooter in the playoffs from 3 (iirc, 48% in the playoffs)
But I just wonder if we can be good enough on D with him, he is beter for larger forwards, but we already have Lebron and Luka
Unless Luka has really committed to defense I guess
Wiggins would be great
Hard/not realistic to get Wiggins w/o moving Rui, so Rui+Kleber+Knecht for Wiggins would be it here
Would be nice to keep Rui and get a guy like Wiggins though with the other contracts (Gabe, Kleber, Vando), Knecht, 2nd, swap

I would do that trade for sure. Royce is older but is more of a pure 3, and his offense is primarily three point shooting, which is all the Lakers need.QMemphis wrote:Rui for Royce/Richards but that’s a shot in the dark. You don't substitute an older guy for a younger guy, esp when you have like the oldest guy in the leauge and an incoming MVP Luka

Re: Who wants Rui Hachimura?
It doesn't seem like the Lakers mind to get a player that is a little bit older. Wiggins is 30 years and 229 days old, while Royce is 32 years and 127 days old. Also, no picks going out in that proposed trade.SlimShady83 wrote:scoobs07 wrote:I would do that trade for sure. Re: Who wants Rui Hachimura?
Solid role player, 5th starter type in his prime. Good shooter and individual defender but too inconsistent and passive to be anything more.
Being from Japan gives a little added value because of the additional media coverage. An owner will like that.
He's a solid piece for a contender but he's also a rental at this point so in a trade, all your hoping in return is for a similar quality player who can complement the roster better or a slightly better player who is owed more long term $$$.

I think the issue here for the Lakers is the long term salary. Royce has two years left after this season and the Lakers are targeting Giannis/Joker in the Summer of ‘27.

Re: Who wants Rui Hachimura?
GSW always seemed like a good fit for Rui. Suns have documented interest in Kuminga. Lakers need shooting and size.
Warriors receive Rui, Knecht
Lakers receive Grayson Allen, Richards
Suns get Kuminga
Salaries work and are just about equal across the board. Lakers would need to highly value Allen though and I think they would want to get off of Vandos long term salary in the process.

Lakers would rather take the gamble on Kuminga's long term potential versus pay the Kuminga price to end up with Allen and Richards.

Maybe. Depends how the season plays out. But like I said, the Lakers would have to value Allen pretty highly in order to make this deal.

It's the Lakers. They'll nba 2k force a trade to dump rui and whatever picks they can for another super star at some point
