Cavs and Bucks (Giannis)
Cavs get: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks get: Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, '31 unprotected, '30 swap and 4 2nds
Why?
Cavs get a superstar in his prime.
Bucks get a decent package of players to stay competitive and high variable firsts.

It's in the range of possibly acceptable if Giannis says he wants to play with Mitchell and Mobley but those 4 2nds should really be another first somehow.

Agreed. I added all the tradeable firsts, Garland and Allen as the headliner is a pretty competitive offer imo.

Similar to other Giannis proposals, I struggle to see Cleveland keeping their top two players in the deal.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I don't think the Bucks would want to build around these two, so you would have to route them for other rebuilding pieces, specifically for their own picks back.
Ultimately, I think other teams would have better offers.

It doesn't work, because it ignores the fact that Giannis isn’t going to want to play in Cleveland

Re: Cavs and Bucks (Giannis)
I don't understand why Milwaukee would do this at all. They would be stuck in the purgatory of mediocrity. They are owed either Mobley or Mitchell in a deal, and if Cleveland understandably prefers their core, then there is no trade to be made.

Re: Cavs and Bucks (Giannis)
The Cavs can't consolidate as they're over the second apron. This summer Wade falls off the books and Ball isn't guaranteed. The Bucks have Miles Turner so I imagine this trade starts with Allen going to a third team for picks and a decent player on a rookie contract (Hornets?) The Cavs drop below the aprons and then they can ship Strus, Garland, picks and the Allen return to the Bucks.
But really, I suspect a Giannis trade would have to wait until the summer from the Cavs perspective to see if Mitchell is willing to extend. If not, Giannis isn't extending either and the Cavs pass. Even if everyone extends, you're spending 105% of your cap on 3 players, you've shortened your window, and increased your pick debt out two more seasons.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Not even close. Also Cleveland wouldn’t be on Giannis’s list if there was one, stop dreaming. Would rather Giannis walk than this poo poo platter.

You would rather let GA walk than 2 young all stars and multiple picks?
If GA gets traded it will probably be for less than that.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

Cavs would have to be on Giannis’ list. If not, no trade works. If so, it has to be Mobley.
And OP isn’t a legal trade. Not close.

I'm pretty sure the Cavs will be good with no trade, at least this season.

Re: Cavs and Bucks (Giannis)
This isn't even a legal trade as Cleveland is deep into the 2nd apron and can't aggregate salaries, right?

Re: Cavs and Bucks (Giannis)
The Cavs need to drop $13.1m more in salary for the trade to be legal. Either Strus or Wade+Ball need to go to a third/fourth team.
Milwaukee desperately needs young talent in return if they dump Giannis because of their lack of future picks. They might be interested in Tyson or Proctor as developmental pieces in exchange for some of their minimum vets as part of the deal.
That by itself has the Cavs trading 5+ players. That's not happening until the offseason at the earliest.
