Dallas - Sacramento - LAL - Utah

Post#1 » by Godaddycurse » Thu Oct 16, 2025 7:03 pm

Dallas out: Marshall
Dallas in: Carter

Sacramento out: Saric, Carter
Sacramento in: Anderson

LAL out: Kleber, 2nds
LAL in: Marshall

Utah out: Anderson
Utah in: Kleber, Saric, 2nds

Why for LAL: add a wing defender
Why for Dallas: add a defensive guard prospect who fits well next to kyrie
Why for Sacramento: turn Carter into PF depth
Why for Utah: get some 2nds for anderson

SlowMo is not worth his contract honestly, Kings shouldnt trade a sophomore that had injury issues for a player that might retire in a year

Feels rough for the Kings. I'd either just take Marshall or take Kleber and the 2nds if I was that ready to move on from Carter.
Dallas should do this and take a shot with Carter, but Kyrie/AD means they probably would just stick with the vet.
Utah probably should cut the others out.
Marshall is probably too much on-ball to be the right guy for the Lakers. But if Kleber is never going to play, then sure, it gives you a guy until Lebron is back and great insurance for the games Lebron/Luka are sure to miss later.

A guy taken in the lottery last year (and would have gone higher if he wasn’t going to sit out a large part of his rookie season) for Kyle Anderson? Woof…don’t like this at all for the Kings

Anderson looks so god awful so far. Don't think Sac should be interested in him.

The only guys with any value here are Carter and Marshell. There's an argument for a straight swap but no reason for Sac to trade Carter for a non-rotation vet.

I'm keen on Marshall to the Lakers but doubt there's a path to another LAL/DAL trade.

Reaves for Gafford is that path ... If Lakers can't get Giannis/Jokic (who I not want, yes Giannis, no to Jokic) Kessler then Gafford is him

This to me should just be Carter/Najo.

Could see Saric and a Dallas 2nd to Washington/Utah/etc as the way to make it work. I think Carter’s injury excuses last season a bit so he should have more value than Naji.. happy to be wrong though.

I don’t think you need Martin and Naji off the bench. Especially with PJ. Especially with DLO and Christie also eventually on the bench.

I do think LA and Utah do their deals. Just think it makes it bad for Sac. Just take the affordable good fitting piece.

Fine for Dallas, but way too good for LAL. Naji is a jack of all trades who any team would want, Kleber is moldy toast

Why trade Reaves for players that have significantly less value? Even if you want to trade for a center, you can do a lot better than trading Reaves for Gafford or Kessler.

He been on about it all summer. He thinks gafford is a starting center, which he isnt and never were in mavs either. Only way I see a reaves to mavs deal is of its lively coming back, which i doubt mavs fans would be intrested in

Curious why you think Naji wouldn't play for the Kings? I mean he walks in the door clearly their 3rd best forward right?

Yeah if you were a big believer in Kessler and thought his contract demands would be reasonable while Reaves might take a max, then you could consider a deal I guess, though I wouldn't weaken my team while Lebron is still around. Gafford just isn't close to as good a player as Reaves. He's a great fit with Luka, so a decent target, but not at the cost of Reaves.

I've seen offers not just on here, but youtube and even writers proposing trades for Reaves for Gafford, Gafford is same age as Luka I think? has the experience playing with Luka and they get along, out side of the above names I don't see too many Centers that Lakers can get? Some have suggested Allen from Cavs, but I don't see Cavs doing that. So out side of Giannis/Jokic which not happening, I can see Kessler (longshot my hopes will be high until his signed or traded else where) and Gafford, like don't see too many centers out there for a Reaves swap that is, I like Reaves a lot but it's all about LaLuka now :) might need more players involved not just Reaves?

A Rui/Gafford swap is more appropriate in terms of value than Reaves/Gafford. No GM is conducting a Reaves trade where the principal asset returned is Gafford or even Kessler for that matter. I just don't see the necessity of trading an ultra efficient shot creator in his prime for a rim protecting center. It's much easier to find a Gafford level center than a guard as good as Reaves.

I side with LAL is better off keeping Reaves and figuring out the center situation.

But... Rui would be a distant 3rd string PF to AD and PJ. And with Flagg likely taking minutes at the four.. And having Naji.. It just isn’t worth it. On court or financially. Though he is closer in value as that poster stated.

But using “arrow valuation” .. Austin >>> Gafford > Rui imo. So a decent/good asset needed from Dallas to get Austin for Gafford, and a lesser asset for Rui/Gafford swap. But the Rui/Gafford swap desperately would need a third team no matter what LAL adds (unless it’s just an unrealistic overpayment obviously)

I think for Gafford/Reaves I’d try to offer a Naji/Maxi swap and then add the couple seconds Dallas has left.. And Brandon Williams addition keeps LAL under the apron and makes a legal trade for Dallas.. enough apron space to convert Cisse midseason. LAL would turn it down though..

But with Austin being a true expiring, I think LAL just needs to keep him. His on court impact should far exceed his trade value. And LA are contenders when healthy. No reason to take minor draft value to make a deal work.
