Another Golden State/Miami Trade you might want to Consider

Mikael Pietrus, Patrick O'Bryant and Troy Hudson for Jason Williams,Alex Johnson and #2 pick. Works on trade checker.

Trade ID #4380801

Miami gets 2 former lottery picks who are not needed by the Warriors (one a potential starter or at the very least a top notch 6th man) and a young big man with potential. Troy Hudson is just filler.

The Warriors get Jason Williams to backup Baron Davis and fill in if he's injured and Alex Johnson to give them some beef at the Power Forward position. I realize Miami may not want to do this because of Williams value to them, but I think that depending on what other deals are out there (or not there) this might be at least worth considering at some point. Basically since Williams is expiring, theWarriors would likely lose him and Johnson (who by the way is filler as well) probably doesn't play much and winds up leaving as well (could conceivably even by cut by them).

So in a sense, all they wind up with is an additional draft pick for their two lottery picks which is about all they would salvage. Of course, Williams could provide them with some measure of insurance for this season hopefully. So Miami fans, don't get angry, just a thought. I'm sure if you can get better, you will.

Actually, I think it would be fairer if the Warriors sent the round 2 pick to MIA

Miami needs a point guard. Unless their's another deal on the table involving one, I can't see the Heat taking this deal.

If we would've signed him, they would've matched. He was a restricted FA.

Not necessarily. GS signed him to 1 year, we did not want pietrus on a multiyear deal. We have other guards we value more to pay in the future, but pietrus is fine for a year.
