Lakers-Bulls - Ben Wallace to LA

Post#1 » by B-Scott » Fri Jan 4, 2008 5:43 am

Lakers take Ben's contract off the Bulls hands

Bulls Get - Kwame Brown (expiring Sasha (expiring) Chris Mihm

Lakers Get - Ben Wallace

Why for LA? I think Ben would make a big impact for a team that already has a lot of offensive weapons. That way he can just focus on defense and rebounds. Plus i think Phil and Kobe would re-motivate him because he would know the Lakers are very close to being a championship team. I think he would play with a lot of energy with the Lakers. He's currently averaging 8.7 rebounds per game. I think those numbers go up because teams have to worry about Lamar and Bynum also crashing the boards.

Why for Bulls? Expiring contracts

Lakers New Lineup

C Bynum
PF Wallace
SF Lamar
SG Kobe
PG Fisher

Ben Wallace is our Rodman of the summer of 1995 when the Bulls signed him

Scott, I think both camps have agreed that the best possible exchange between the 2 camps will be Radmanovic + Kwame for Big Ben. Perhaps an add-on from both sides but the Bulls are not ridding themselves 14m per from Ben Wallace for pure expirings.

Something along the lines of:

Kwame, Radman, Mihm, 08 1st
-- for --
Ben Wallace, Thabo Sefolosha, Gray.

Honestly if we could take out Gray in that deal and instead of Mihm put in Sasha, i woud kinda like that deal.

Chicago won't take on Radmanovic without sweetner, even if it meant that Ben Wallace' contract could be shipped off.

I personally think that Wallace for Kwame + Vlad is doable for Chicago from a personnel standpoint.

In reality, the organization is giving out no signs that they are willing to deal Wallace, or even cut back his minutes. Either they are showcasing him, or are afraid to admit a mistake.

Wallace has been playing noticeably better. Apparently he had big issues with Skiles. There is just no point to having him on the team.
