I think both Atlanta and Charlotte are in the same boat as Toronto. All three teams have the assets to make a trade happen (Toronto with Bosh, Charlotte with Oak, Atlanta with Horford or JJ), but there would be no point in making a trade if these pieces were to be included, as it won't make either team that much better (maybe worse).

The situation is this. Memphis can't afford to keep paying Gasol if they are going to keep missing the playoffs. High talent on rookie scale contract is what they would want as their main piece, assuming they bite the bullet and decide to rebuild around Rudy, Conley and whatever piece they get for Gasol (this means no Oak, no JJ nor JSmith). This, along with expiring contracts and other future pieces/picks would be desired as well. The "big three" in any trade for a team looking to rebuild are prospects, cap relief, and picks. The Raps trade offers all three, but whether those three are good enough, is up to Memphis.

On another note, I think Chicago has the necessary pieces to pull a Gasol trade. Other than them, the Raps can offer just as much as anyone without giving up Bosh, Tj, and Caldy.

Toronto is not offering Bosh

Altanta is not offering Josh Smith

If Charlotte is actually considering movie Oak, then thats the best package for a "win now" senario... but under the most likely situation Oak is not being offered in a straight up trade for Gasol, and thus more good players/assets would have to go back to Charlotte, making it less attractive to Memphis.

Shaq was traded to PAIR with Wade
T-Mac was traded to PAIR with Yao
AI was traded to PAIR with Melo
KG and Ray were traded to PAIR with PP

IF something happens with Toronto is will be to pair Gasol with Bosh
IF something happens with Atlanta is will be to pair Gasol with Smith

well spoken thats the point I was trying to make. Nobody is going to trade a star for a star and Toronto will not trade Bosh for anybody on Memphis unless we get both Rudy Gay and Pau Gasol. Bosh will only be traded for Wade, Melo, Howard, Yao, LeBron or maybe KG. Other then that there is nobody that Colangelo would want.

Pau is a great C in the league maybe 3rd behind Yao and Howard (not counting Duncan as a C) but he looks like he dosn't want to play at times and is causing Memphis so serious chemstry problems.
.

3rd best Center in the league ? I'm sorry that statement is blatantly wrong.
I'm sure Chris Kaman and Amare Stoudemire among others will have problems with that statement.
I know you said maybe but c'mon !!!

but i definitely agree with you Toronto would not trade bosh for Gasol and not would I want them to. and I agree with your opinion on the Calderon and Bargnani for Gasol trade too.

If something happens with Atlanta will be to pair Gasol with Joe Johnson, not Josh Smith.

I think a package based about Bargs for Gasol wuld be dually beneficial Toronto really need Gasols interior toughness and Bargs has worlds of potential him and Gay could become J-Ho and Dirk Lite

I don't think either team does this deal.

Memphis won't trade Gasol for junk + potential

Toronto won't trade Bargnani on principle (he's the golden child of BC + MG)

Good idea. Bosh/Gasol is a nice frontcourt, Gasol can rebound and really help Bosh out.

I highly doubt that... I was thinking along the lines of

Marvin Williams
Zaza Pachuila
Josh Childress
[Anthony Johnson?]
(or something like that)

That would give Atlanta
Al Horford
Gasol
Smith
Joe John
Speedy

And they should still have enuff cap space to sign another player (before Josh Smith is extended, b/c he has a small cap hold)
