Another great scorer pairing next to Kobe makes Lakers a contender. Have you seen the Boston game? Once Kobe is too occupied with defense, Lakers' offense is completely dead. That is the time when you need a second scorer to step it up and help him out. Once playoff comes, you know every team will force Kobe to play defense and trap him on offense. Which means, what happened in the Boston game will likely occur again and again and again. To be better prepared for the playoffs, a Michael Redd is needed.
