Pacers and Rockets - Or Pacers and Magic

Post#1 » by Bit's » Wed Jan 9, 2008 4:16 am

Troy Murphy and Andre Owens for Mike James and Kirk Snyder

or

Troy Murphy and Andre Owens for Keyon Dooling (or Arroyo) and Pat Garrity

I don't know if Houston and Orlando would do it, because Murphy is so overpaid and inconsistent, but they really need a big man.

I'd do those trades in a heartbeat, though. As a Pacers fan.

If you have another idea for Pacers to get rid of Murphy and get a backup PG, post here please!!!

Houston should like this. Dumping James makes Murphy's $$ look a lot less of a problem.

Yeah, have a hard time convincing me that "hey, we got rid of a 2yr/11mill guy for 4/44 guy" isn't that great we got rid of James? Terrible deal for Houston, cause you know paying Murphy-battier 17million plus a year for the next three years is a good thing.

Yeah, I don't like it for Houston. Murphy sucks, and he's got a pretty bad contract.

^Murphy has low trade value only because he has a horrible contract. He is a productive player; it's just that his production doesn't justify his huge contract, that's all.

He is definitely more useful to the Rockets than Mike James

He may be more useful than James, but his contract is much, much worse.

The Rox wouldn't do that deal. Honestly, the only bad contracts onthe Rockets belong to James, and maybe Alston (WHo is actually playing much better as of late). Nerither of those deals touches the monstrosity that is Troy Murphy's deal.
