Two Chicago trades

Post#1 » by DanTown8587 » Sat Jan 12, 2008 10:19 pm

Shawn Marion, Eric Piatowski, Marcus Banks, ATL #1 (2008)

for

Ben Wallace, Joakim Noah, Joe Smith, Chris Duhon

Mike Miller, Stromile Swift, Andre Brown

for

Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni, Viktor Khryapa, Adrian Griffin

Chicago
Hinrich/Banks
Miller/Sefalosha
Deng/Nichols
Marion/Thomas
Swift/Gray

2 first round picks in 08

WHY FOR CHICAGO: They get to rebuild instantly with adding two first round picks and Marion and Miller to a Deng core. They could let Deng go and move Marion to the three and maybe draft a C.

WHY FOR PHOENIX: They have to be in a win now mode with Nash, seeing as once he is done they are, so they instantly add front court depth in Smith, Noah and Wallace that helps them to matchup against San Antonio and LA. They also get to rent a cheap PG and possibly resign him.

WHY FOR MEMPHIS: They want Nocioni to play with Gasol not for him and they get out of some money in the off season to resign Gay so they can play Gay at the two, Noce at the three.

Chicago does the second one, why? I must admit, these are some pretty serious anti-Chicago trades you are putting up today

Wallace fits with Phoenix neither on the court nor in the pocketbook. I've seen a lot of trades that send him there, and to be honest I don't see any way that team takes him.

Wow. Phoenix gives up the best players AND a pick, PLUS they take on the worst contract in the deal in Wallace......Terrible.

And Chicago gets worse with the 2nd deal...

Awful...

The first deal would be a stretch, maybe take the pick out. But the second one allows the Bulls to resign Deng and replace Gordon.
