Orlando Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players: Nick Collison, Earl Watson
Outgoing Players: Keyon Dooling, Pat Garrity, J.J. Redick, future 1st, rights to Fran Vasquez

Seattle Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players: Keyon Dooling, Pat Garrity, J.J. Redick, future 1st, rights to Fran Vasquez
Outgoing Players: Nick Collison, Earl Watson,

Orlando: They get their answer for at the 4 they've been deeply searching for, while Earl Watson can be a solid pg off the bench. I am a little cautious to throw in the future 1st but if that's what it's gonna take to get Collison so be it.

Seattle: They rid themselves of Earl Watson contract and gets rid of the jam at the PG position and get two expiring contracts while Redick can be part of their youth and an extra draft pick and get Fran Vasquez who could come over to the NBA soon.

Is this package enough for Sonics to part with Collison though?

I could see Seattle doing that simply for the expirings and pick.

It could be tempting to rid ourselves of Watson...

but then again I may be in the minority of people who believe that Watsons deal is that much of a negative

Collison is a solid young big to pair next to Durant and Green on the frontline.

Its seems like kind of a random assortment of letfovers for him coming back from Orlando. The hidden value might be Reddick and the pick, but I think ultimately with Seattle's cap room in the near future and Collison's upside, they should just sit tight and pass on a deal like this one.

No. But you can have Kurt Thomas for expirings & your 2008 1st swapped for our 2008 2nd.

I'd love Collison on the Magic. He is the kind of PF we need.

Seattle prefers keeping Collison as their backup PF behind Jeff Green once Wilcox is dealt

how about this deal?

Kurt Thomas + Earl Watson + Mickael Gelabale + 2008 POR 2nd + 2009 NJN 2nd
for
Carlos Arroyo + Pat Garrity + Keyon Dooling + JJ Redick + 2008 1st

This will work IMO

Collison has to much value for that deal.

1) No, that kind of stuff is not enough to land you Nick Collison.

2) Please don't keep on trying to tell people that Vazquez could come over very soon, when there's a bigger chance of him never playing in the NBA, then of him ever coming over.

Yep. That deal, or some version of it, will work. The Lakers, IMO, are the Magic's main competition for Kurt Thomas' services.

You are wrong my friend. Fran will be in the NBA in 1 or 2 years. You can mark my words. There's even an ESPN article about him TODAY wanting to join the Orlando Magic.

But I understand the pieces are not enough. But we won't do the Kurt Thomas deal. He'd be a good fit, but it's only a rent with his contract expiring.

So it does. Interesting; thanks for the link. (Of course, it also describes him as an "enigma" who averages 5.2 ppg and 1.8 rpg in 14 minutes at age 24 for a European team, and concludes that his chances of ever playing for Orlando are "fading"; so I'm not sure he's that valuable a chip anyway.)

Well, he is in a euro league which highly features outside shooting. Even though he has 3pt range he's not the best shooter. And I think the NBA will be better suited for him. But I really don't know much about the guy. The most I saw of the guy was youtube videos which one mix really wow'd me. But I look at his stats and it's not wow. He's as much as a question mark to me as he is to you.

Fair enough. I don't know enough about Vazquez to comment intelligently. Not that that's ever stopped me before.
