Change of Scenery Special - SEA/CHI/LAL

Post#1 » by theshow247 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 10:58 pm

Lakers Get:
Kurt Thomas-F/C
Joakim Noah-F/C

Sonics Gets:
Ben Gordon-G
Kwame Brown-C

Bulls Get:
Chris Wilcox
'08 Lakers #1 pick(#26) or '08 PHX #1 pick(#28), which ever ends up better
'08 Sonics 2nd round pick(#33)
*picks based on current standings

The Lakers fill an immediate need for front court help, and rid themselves of at least half a season of Kwame. Honestly the only upgrade Thomas offers is that he'll at least bring hustle and toughness to the low post. In regards to Noah, he's been a bust in Chicago, and has already drawn the ire of TEAM VOTED suspencion(i bet this guy is beloved in that locker room). This goofy kid already needs a change of scenery, and his length and passing ability would blend nicely into what Phil Jackson likes to do.

Fisher/Farmar
Kobe/Crittenton
Walton/Ariza/Radmonovic
Odom/Turiaf/Noah
Thomas/Turiaf/Noah

The Sonics simply get some value out of Thomas and Wilcox. Ben Gordon gives Durant some much needed help on the offensive end. And Gordon defensive deficiencies aren't a concern because it's not like the Sonics play defense anyways. Also, if they are ever able to move Ridnour, they could play BG at 1, Durant at 2, and have Jeff Green be the point forward he was a G-town. BG also gives them options in the off-season. They could either resign him to extension, work a sign and trade, or let him walk along w/ Kwame, which give them considerable cap space to sign a marquee player going into Oklahoma City(allegedly). Who would've thought Kurt Thomas would've brought so much value.

Potential 2009 Line-up
PG-Gordon
SG-Durant
SF-Green
PF-Collison
C-Petro, Sene, draft pick, or a free agent.

The Bulls get something out of what is appearing to be, more and more, a lost season by acquiring Wilcox, and moving 2 players who don't fit their team for whatever reason. Realistically they are going to lose Gordon anyways, and, by moving him now, they can determine what the receive. Wilcox fills their need for a big who can play both post positions, and, the 2 picks, granted #26 and #33 don't sound exciting, give them at least one, maybe 2 players, of their choosing, they can have under contract at a reasonably priced contract w/o having to worry about an extension for 2-3 years.

Hinrich/Duhon
Deng/Sefolosha
Nocioni/Thomas
Wilcox/Smith
Wallace/Gray

Well Deng isn't a SG. Chicago declines.

RFA, but I don't think the Bulls would do it anyway.
