Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Phoenix and Utah being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Phoenix and Utah had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

No thanks from the Jazz for a couple of reasons:
1. Banks contract for the value provided is worse than both Harpring's and AK's. I don't know his character well, but something just says he's not a good fit on a Jerry Sloan team. If his contract makes it tricky to re-sign Deron or Millsap or Brewer, he's a terrible fit.
2. If Marion bails after this year, which is he probably very likely to do, the Jazz can watch the Suns beat them out in the conference standings and into the western conference finals for the next few years.
I would have said probably to this deal in the summertime, as it stands now (esp. since AK has learned how to shoot these past several weeks) I see a lot more risk than return for the Jazz.
