In my eyes Gomes and Smith are on the trade block, so feel free to work something out with those two...Brewer was a high draft pick, so we'd like to see what we have in him before we deal him...

LaMarcus Aldridge, Joe Smith, Drew Gooden, Udonis Haslem, Juwan Howard, Antwan Jamison, Yi Jianlian, Nenad Kristic, Antonio McDyess, Chris Mihm, Brad Miller, Mikki Moore, Luis Scola, Kenny Thomas, Tim Thomas, Charlie Villanueva, and Brandon Wright all have similar games to Bosh. Now, you may have the best of the bunch, but whoop-de-friggen-do. Bosh is not special.

You just lost all your creditability with that comment. Aldridge is a poor man's bosh in the waiting. There is not one other guy on that list that comes close.

What's with the Bosh bashing? I think Bosh is great.

I don't see Bargs fitting with the Wolves at all though - you made a case that the Wolves might be a good fit for Bargs, taking rebounding pressure off - but Bargs is not a good fit for the Wolves. They're already crowded at the 4, and the Wolves need at the 5 is a defensive rebounder. Unless you can make a case that Bargs could play 3 (and I don't think you can), where does Bargs fit in here?

What the? How can Udonis Haslem and Antawn Jamison, whose games are NOTHING alike, both have similar games to Bosh? Yi Jian Lian and Kenny Thomas? Huh???

Well, that's not going to happen.

Both Ryan Gomes and Craig Smith each have better stats than Bargnani

FG 37.7%, 9.0 PPG, 3.5 PPG

And since you took him number 1, even his rookie contract is expensive for that production as well:

2007-08 $4,838,880
2008-09 $5,176,440
2009-10 $6,527,491 (team option)
2010-11 $8,485,738 (qualifying offer)

Finally, you can knock Brewer, but he's been a pro for only 36 games. Bargnani's numbers are not much better, and he's been in the nba for 100 games, and a pro in europe for three years before that. The deal as is already nets the Raptors loads of production, even with Brewer holding it back.

The Wolves need a good defensive center. I don't think the Raptors can trade Bargnani right now for +20 points and add in a mid lottery pick from them.

Wolves decline. I was never high on Barginani and thought that he was undeserving of the #1 pick. He is a good player no doubt, but he isnt what we need. If we give up Brewer and Gomes for Bargs (who cant play the 3) then we have a glaring hole now at the 3 to go along with the glaring hole at the 5. This in no way helps MIN.

I said they all have similar games, for example all of those players are more reliant on shooting outside jumpers as big men. None of those players can create in the deep post. (maybe a few arguments, but none make a habit of doing it) Now Bosh is a very good player, 20-10 is nothing to sneeze at. I am just saying that when Raptor fans call him "elite" it is just pathetic. What makes Bosh so amazing, when many players like those I listed have somewhat similar skill sets. Bosh's game is so prevalent in today's game that he is not all that different from those guys. He may be better at it than those guys, but he is not someone I'd want to build around for my team.

I disagree with this unless Bargani suddenly becomes a defensive presence at the 5. Right now he seems more like Keith Van Horn to me.

landen wrote:I'm a Raps fan, but I do watch quite a few Wolves games. It was actually the style of play that made me think Andrea WOULD be a good fit with the Wolves. Al Jeff is a monster on the boards which would obviously take alot of the rebounding pressure off of Andrea. They also seem to play a wide open style of ball which also fits Andrea. Andrea will be a good player in this league, but a team will need to be patient with him.

I proposed Brewer,Gomes and Smith because I thought they were good pieces for the Raps, but I would be open to other combinations. I do however think Brewer or Foye would have to be involved.

Couple points.

1-we prefer a half-court points-in-paint style. We tend to run right now because we have no 5 and our best wing offense is injuried (Foye)

2-The idea that Brewer or Foye would be available is a serious underestimate in their value or an overestimate of Andrea. There is no way that the Wolves would have Foye/Brewer/Al/1st on the table for a player like Andrea who is not a very good fit nor is he playing worth his supposed draft value.

The wolves would rather have Channing Frye than Andrea

1- Are you the coach or GM? "We prefer"?? Right now the Wolves are playing an open style game. I would assume if the coach/GM prefered a points in the pain style they would be playing it right now so the players learnt the system.

Either way, it seems the Wolves fans have no interest in Andrea. However, I do find it quite funny how every team's fans (Raps included), overrate their players.

You do not know me, so I can justify your ignorance, but our front office has been very clear and public to the style of team they desire to have. This is common knowledge for people who follow the timberwolves. The biggest issue right now is the season-long injuries we have had to Foye and Theo. With those 2 guys you would have seen a different game style. It is hard to be a paint-style team when your best option at the 5 is Doleac.
