I can tell you who's not at his level. Two guys. Dwight Howard and Lebron James. Mentioning Bynum in the same breath as Howard and James is a joke regardless of how much Laker fans might like him. And Bynum is a extremely promising young player but saying that he's in the same category as Howard and James is insulting Howard and James...and most fans with half a wit.

no duh. we're saying those are the only two players that are better than him in those 3 categories, therefore, we'd happily trade bynum for them. you try to make your team better, not worse.

DanTown is nobody? He just said that only Howard and James match Bynum's value in terms of "ability+upside+need". Other than ability, upside and need, what else is there to compare players?

no, he's saying he'd trade for them because they are better in each of those. if he said they were equal, what would be a point of a trade? god man, learn to read.

So... your saying the Lakers wouldn't trade Bynum for say... Chris Paul? I find that hard to believe.

^ The Lakers would not make that trade now. The irony is that Chris Paul was the player they wanted and allegedly tried to trade up for that year.

I find that very hard to believe.

I'd think there are a bunch of players that the Lakers would be willing to trade Bynum for, problem being that those players would never be offered.

I agree, i think any of Deron Williams, Chris Bosh, Kevin Garnett, D Wade and Carmelo could warrant a Bynum trade, maybe even a few others, i think the main reason for this thread was in the interest of what Kobe's situation requires more, experienced All stars or the talent upside of the Lakers' current roster

I doubt the Lakers trade for Deron, Chris, KG, Melo, and Wade. Paul, maybe but Bynum's impact is already as good as those guys except for Wade and KG. Just watch the 3 games without him and see how just bad the Lakers are.

Bynum led the league in efficiency in the 5 games he played before injury. That's right. Andrew freaking Bynum led the league in efficiency for 5 straight games. That's hard for anyone to do unless your name is Lebron James or KG.

For Lakers fan, he's the young player we've been waiting for since we got Kobe in 1996.

it is hard to find a 7' dominant C in the league. it isn't terribly hard to find a PG to run the triangle (see Ron Harper, Smush Parker). so i wouldn't trade bynum for paul.
