ATL/Sea/Mil: Redd to Hawks, JJ to Sonics, Green to Bucks

Post#1 » by mhd » Sat Jan 19, 2008 6:21 pm

Trade ID: 4421988

Hawks trade:
1) Joe Johnson
2) Childress
3) Lue (expiring)
4) Wright (expiring)
for:
1) Redd
2) Kurt Thomas
3) Desmond Mason

Sonics trade:
1) Jeff Green
2) Wally
3) Kurt Thomas
for:
1) Joe Johnson
2) Lue (expiring)
3) Wright (expiring)

Bucks trade:
1) Redd
2) Mason
for:
1) Jeff Green
2) Childress
3) Wally

NEW LINEUPS:
Hawks:
PG: Johnson/Law
SG: Redd/Stoudamire
SF: Williams/Mason
PF: Smith/Kurt Thomas
C: Horford/Zaza

Sonics:
PG: Watson/Ridnour
SG: Johnson/West
SF: Durant/Wilkins
PF: Wilcox/Petro
C: Collison/Sene

Bucks:
PG: Williams/Bell
SG: Childress/Simmons
SF: Green/Wally
PF: Yi/Charlie V.
C: Bogut/Gadzuric

REASONS:
Hawks:
1) Redd's outside shot provides much needed balance to the offense.
2) Kurt Thomas would be a great addition as a third big and mentor to Horford.
3) With Childress likely gone after this year anyways, Mason would be an excellent replacement as a 6th man.

SOnics:
1) They move Durant to his natural position of SF.
2) Joe Johnson would be an excellent fit next to Durant.

Bucks:
1) Get future cap relief because Wally expires two years before Redd.
2) Green would be an instant starter and would grow with Yi and Bogut.
3) Childress is a good replacement for Redd and is a much better defender.
4) They save money.

Atlanta needs a pg. Chill is going to get what Mason makes, maybe less, so why not just keep him?

and seattle has ridenour, watson and west at PG so they won't want lue without trading at least one of those guys.

maybe make it

BUCKS GET
J. Johnson

HAWKS GET
Redd, Watson

SONICS GET
Lue, S. Williams

the bucks trade for another SG that would work better with mo williams and that tends to be healthier.

the hawks get a defensive-minded PG and a pure shooter like redd.

the sonics trade one of their longer contracts for and exp. in lue and a prospect in shelden

Bucks NO. Snake ain't trading Mason again to be labeled a doublesnake.
Those three don't even get you Redd.

Sonics aren't interested in Joe Johnson, we are just beginning to rebuild.

Sonics would pass. Johnson could possibly stint Durants growth. They are happy with Green and Durant as their future.
