Jose Calderon?
12 pt, 8 ast, 3 rb in 31 mpg. Highest Ast/TO ratio in the league by far.

It would depend on a few things for my team. A) If they chose to move Mike Bibby and B) What they chose to do with Ron Artest. If they move Bibby but keep Artest I would offer Cisco for him.HPandu wrote:Jose Calderon?

I have no idea what the Rockets would trade for Jose Calderon. But I would trade Battier, Head, 08 lotto protected 1st, top 5 in 09, unprotected in 10, and any combination of taking back a bad contract (Rasho comes to mind) and sending Scola if needed.
I'm sure you could get much more competitive offers though.

But in the good nature of this thread, Hawks would probably trade anyone except for JJ, Josh Smith, and Horford.
I could see a Marvin/future 1st for Calderon being something both teams could explore after TJ comes back and shows whether he's going to be able to play or not.

That is awfully rich though for the Hawks to trade their starting sf and a first for Calderon. I was tempted to buy marvin in that "won't trade" category. Having to resign Calderon for 8-10 a year base, then resign Childress for the mle or so, not to mention resign Smith is an awfully risky offseason.

Josh Smith is more of a 3 though, isn't he? You can slide him into his more natural position, play Horford at his natural position at the 4, and have either Zaza or a FA playing center.
Calderon/JJ/Smith/Horford/Zaza looks pretty nice to me.
Without Marvin, there really isn't anything on the Hawks roster that comes close to what the Raptors would require. Law IV doesn't have a lot of value as he's injured right now, you have some expirings, but none of them are particularly good, your pick is Phoenix's this year, and you guys are a team on the rise, so future picks are of dubious value.
You can't say: I'll take you're second best player, but you can't have any of my top 4. That's just silly, especially between teams with comparative levels of ability in Toronto and Atlanta.

Smith is a 4, he is not a 3. See the sig.
By moving Smith to the 3 we then create a liability of offense from Smith there since he is not able to work in the post anymore and create a liability with whoever has to play the 5 (be it Zaza who just sucks, or Shelden with offense).
That is fine that there isn't anything else on the hawks roster that would interest the Raptors, but that is because his value is higher to the raptors than other teams. Atlanta can release Chill's rights and offer Calderon a big deal and see if Toronto will match a 9 or 10 a year deal.
