Would you do this deal?

Post#1 » by Shack » Tue Jan 22, 2008 5:55 am

I was looking at the trade checker...

Dalembert for Rasho and Bargnani

This provides some cap flexibility in the future for Sixers (which they are seeking, Dalembert $$$ is 9.5 now, 10.5 next year, 11.3 then 12.2!) and huge potential with Bargs, for the Raps we get a solid defender, shot blocker, banger and known commodity in the center for years to come.

If you dont think it's enough for the raps, the sixers could add louis Williams which still works in the trade checker but not sure Sixers would do this move.
Formula to win in NBA
1 All star gets you 6-9th seed in conf, 1rst round playoff loss
2 All stars gets you to second round of playoffs
3 All stars gets you to Finals /Champs

are you kidding? bargnani might be bad right now, but there's still a chance he could pan out as a strong starting center for the Raptors before his 25th birthday. by then dalembert will be almost 30 and making 12.2 million dollars.

The trade doesn't look so bad now. However, if BC ever decides to make such move, it's saying he made a huge mistake selecting Bargs with #1 pick. This can potentially haunt us for the years to come if Bargs develops his post move and defense somehow in Philly.

No way. As bad as Bargs has been, it'd be foolish to sell him this low. Not saying Dalembert is a bad fit, but it would so depressing to only get him for Bargs.

Even though alot of people won't believe it, he'll end up playing alot better than he is now in the future.

That future just might be next season though.

substitute any combination of players besides Bargs and our big 3 plus a pick and I'm all over it...

I don't like Dalembert's contract at all.

I would do a deal like this for Marcus Camby, though the Nuggets wouldn't. He's an absolute monster and his deal is totally reasonable.

I would prefer Okafor, if there's any hope of him turning it around. Charlotte has 2 banging, defending, rebounding centers. We have 2 finesse PF's. Both Okafor and Bargs are undervalued right now.

Ya but Okafor is still young as well and is playing 10 times better than Bargs right now.

You can't do this deal, as bad as Bargnani has been, its only his second year, and the only way you give up on him is if you can get alot more than Sam Dalembert. He is good no doubt, but wouldn't make the Raptors into the Detriot Pistons
